Giving this a bump as last nights dream comes back to me.
Off to see Les Mis at Manchester Palace. Late for the top of the show, I'd brought a restricted view seat in the stalls but the usher guiding me in during the performance wouldn't let me sit in my restricted view seat, on the far outer realm of the stalls. She insisted guiding me down one aisle, flashing a torch everywhere, across the front and back up the other to sit me on an seat she "thought" would remain empty for the first act. Then left me to stress whether someone would turn up wanting their seat until the interval. My recollection goes a bit hazy from here on, I remember some weirdness in the interval and second act, but my memory of it isn't strong enough.
I guess it means I'm stressed about something, time related perhaps?
Anyone else had a theatrical dream lately?

I LOVE stagey dreams! Better than the, "I have skived off all my degree maths classes and will never catch up and have missed too many classes to show my face again" ones that I seem to have all the time, even though I have never studied maths beyond GCSE. I had one recently in which I was meant to be directing a musical version of Pocahontas (a new version, nothing to do with the Disney one), but set in an enormous marble mansion. The audience followed the cast through the house in twos and threes. Then the audience were split into two groups, one of which went into a dark ground level room with red curtains, and the other went into the room above. This second group saw what I assume was a version of Ghost Stories as we could hear screaming and see an occasional flash of light. Us plebs in the other room were expecting something to happen and were getting scared, then the other group appeared and told us how scary the play was. I was like, "oh great, cheers people," before waking up. One I've had a couple of times involves me playing Ophelia with no preparation, wearing a silk green dress. The set is a giant bed. I get to hold the script in my hand in a little book, which I am hiding as a "prayer book" prop. When I get going I realise I can say most of the lines off by heart and the audience is so relaxed they never notice the book. That's quite a nice one

I haven't had a stagey dream for ages. However - I was in a production of West Side Story a little while back, and I missed the rehearsal where the assistant choreographer had set the dream ballet, so I ended up having to pick it up from my cast mates, on stage, during the tech rehearsal. And you know what? I completely got away with it. So maybe that's why I haven't had any stagey anxiety dreams for a while, because I've lived through a common dream scenario and it wasn't as bad as I'd feared.

Posted this on the play section for Dame Maggie's play last week so moved it here.
Just had to share this with you all. Had a dream last night that they were offering free tickets to people in the industry. You just had to go to the box office. So along I went and they kept serving everyone but me so I snuck in. Oh forgot to say you also got a scone with clotted cream! But strangely enough no jam. Theatre was set out in the round and the seats were arm chairs looking down onto the stage. It was half empty and people kept wandering in and out as DMS was performing. Then a man came and sat next to me and he had this old fob watch and the alarm kept going off. DMS comes over and tries to turn it off. Oh and she was topless but had no chest. Then thankfully I woke up.

Lol I love this thread. My most recent one was when on holiday in Gran Canaria recently and having seen some of the wonderful drag shows in the Yumbo centre in Playa del Ingles...In the dream,I turned up to sing ‘I am what I am’ in the Funny Boys show and Lola from Kinky Boots had borrowed my stilleto’s 👠 so I refused to go on.Then Ashley Banjo turned up and talked me into going on stage with him in drag as well. For some reason Gerry Marsden was also in the show. Not sure whether I got a standing ovation or was booed off...probably the latter!
