I've been offered a contract as a vocalist where they only pay minimum wage on a 40 hour week and I will be on the companies payroll. As I'm with a agency they will also need to be paid there 10% obviously this will bring me below minimum wage is this standard in this industry?

I have no idea what standard is but if you need the experience it might be worth it.

I might be misunderstanding the deal, but is singing for 40 hours a week physically possible? It sounds like a way to do yourself some permanent damage.
This is somewhere your agent should be stepping in (and advising you).

This does seem low for a vocalist I currently manage entertainment team for a holiday park and my vocalists are on more than minimum wage as are the dancers. Some do also pay agents which will lower the amount they take home and the roles are PAYE also but minimum wage for a vocalist role seems very low. Do you mind if I ask the role / employer or company?
