I was thinking about buying tickets to see this around my birthday in December, but have noticed that there are no for sale dates between 22nd and 29th December. Obviously Christmas Day and Boxing Day I would expect, but are the other dates (Sat 28th I had in particular mind) going to remain closed? Is this something the Young Vic does, a longer break over Christmas, or perhaps holiday performances are yet to be scheduled?

Most likely this is a contractual requirement for one of the lead actors who has yet to be announced. Remember last year David Tennant requested having the entire week between Christmas Eve and New Year's off from Macbeth, so instead of putting an understudy on the Donmar just didn't schedule any performances for that week. This looks like it might be the same situation.

To be topical and contractual, although it wasn't expressed as such I think everyone at Jerusalum got 1st May off, which might not have been a coincidence given Mark Rylance's politcs and today being Labour Day (there was also another time when Rylance's brother died, which it shouldn't be confused with).
IIRC!
p.s. I see Brian Cox is working tonight, so there is that ..

Lucky dips still availabe in places for £12. Two for the new years eve matinee, for example.

I’m guessing they’ve got a fairly big name or two for the lead roles?

I REALLY wanted to this when I’m in London on Dec 28th, still holding out hope that that post Christmas week might have been held off sale pending a cast decision…

Glad that I bought a £12 ticket last night. I was waiting for the cast but took a risk. I really like AMD though I don't think she alone makes a production selling out.

Booked because it’s AMD. Added to my 2025 list of theatre visits
