Just picked up a £37.50 stage level ticket for this for £15 with a Manchester Theatres offer. Anyone else been/going? Tracy Ann Oberman starring. On until 30th July.

Ooooh, I love this book - no idea how you'd turn it into a play, though. Will either be brilliant or terrible - please report back!

Just got back from tonights performance. I'm not sure. It just didn't seem to go anywhere or say anything for me, found it all very dull and I'm fairly fond of coming of age type material but in my extremely humble opinion, not anything great or spectacular. Be interested to hear others thoughts!

I found the production lacking in energy and all a bit stilted- I've rarely seen the Royal Exchange audience so switched off, especially for a Friday night. It just didn't really go anywhere, especially the ping-pong! Tracy Ann Oberman was the highlight for me- a lovely and very funny performance.

Tracy Ann O good in this but my god what a bore the whole thing is. The second half is slightly better but it's all so pointless. And the plop-tic sound effects the actors make to simulate table tennis is the most infuriating thing I've ever witnessed in a theatre.
