I was kind of kidding……………..
I might get down to see Barnum, however it’s location is not my friend, it must be one on the most inaccessible theatres in the country, which you either need a car or a expensive mini cab from/to Newbury Station, the train rules out evening performances.

Walking from the station to the theatre is 2.7 miles. There are at least two nice and easy walking routes. I know not everyone can do this on foot or bike but it is doable. I have happily done it previously and will do again.

I agree wholeheartedly and didn't mean to come across as rude. I drive from Kent and it's a good 2.5 hours. I am going to the final performance and would be happy to pick you up en route if it is of help.

No worries I live in Kent too and have driven to the Watermill before but haven’t for a long time, not since lockdown anyway. I am well aware the time it takes to drive back. As I say I used to drive there but prefer to now just use public transport, as making a 200 mile solo round trip to see a theatre show, in the time of a climate crisis is just total nonsense. It would be great if the Watermill was more accessible from Newbury town centre.

Saw Barnum again this evening. I love how they keep evolving this show - great cast, brilliant musicianship, Matt Rawle still knocking it out the park as the lead. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Saw this last night and was completely captivated - amazing cast and incredible choreography in such a small space.
I love visiting the Watermill and am lucky it's an easy drive from Bristol.

You are lucky - I drive a 200 mile round trip and have seen this production three times now. But it's worth it - it's a brilliant production. I love the Watermill too - it's a beautiful theatre with fantastic people running it and you always get a very warm welcome.

The staff are fantastic too, my regular theatre buddy walks with a stick and they were very kind with offers of help.
I love the fact that everyone's so happy there, there's really something special about the setting and the intimacy of the small venue.

Won’t get a chance to see this at the Watermill before it closes.
Any chance of a transfer?

Won’t get a chance to see this at the Watermill before it closes. Any chance of a transfer? I think with the recent announcement of The Greatest Showman and the rumour of it going to Drury Lane after Hercules, it may be unlikely.

Won’t get a chance to see this at the Watermill before it closes. Any chance of a transfer? Never say never. I could see it having a longer life, even for a short run somewhere else. The actor-muso combo works so well in this show, way less clunky than other shows can seem. It has sold VERY well.

I know which one I'd rather see ...

A great final performance today, even with a showstop in the second half due to broken glass on stage. A superb cast and production.
Will miss it hugely!
