So Macbeth.....an exploration of our wicked colonialism. I think both RSC and Globe must really loath this country ,our history, our way of life. RSC-Empress/Falkland Sound/ Globe/.....Macbeth......
The way audiences are treated by these companies is nothing short of a scandal.
High hopes for RSC...but not until next summer when Evans/Harvey get going properly.
Every culture is littered with mistakes and errors....this is the evolution of history.
Can we please look at theatre with some more original thinking.

I've booked for this in September. I don't mind occasional controversial/political interpretations or whacky settings, particularly when a play is as frequently produced as Macbeth. The current season's Dream and Comedy of Errors are fairly uncontroversial, C of E was actually quite traditional, so maybe there's room for one outlier per season?
I'm more concerned by the hugely variable acting quality at the Globe, and the Macbeth reviews sound like this is the case again - the critics don't seem too impressed by Max Bennett's performance. What I would like, regardless of interpretations and settings, is for the Globe and RSC to get back to basics in terms of consistent production quality and particularly acting and verse-speaking. That's my main wish for the Evans/Harvey era at the RSC.

Reviewer I read surpassed himself with ‘his torso more well defined than his verse speaking’ or someat like that. Might get more people in…

Ridiculous place; arse-aching seats, on the flight path, rained on, and now channelling Magic Mike.

Goodness, I've just looked at the production photos on the Globe website.

Taking my Y11s to see this in September. The reviews focusing on Macbeth's (lack of) clothing makes me nervous... For the GCSE contingent I’m pinning my hopes on the ETT touring production (September onwards) but of course that may be worse for a host of reasons.
