I think they may have just been saying that so the press release wasn't too depressing. I can't see there being much incentive to transfer it when it's closing on Broadway only 3 months after opening.

I wondered that, but all the other big barlett sherr musical revivals from Lincoln centre have come over so maybe a summer barbican run or similar.

I'd say a shortish limited season at the Palladium, Coliseum or Barbican would be the extent of the demand for Camelot. It definitely wouldn't survive an open ended run. I'd like to strike it from my bucket list but it doesn't seem to be resonating with audiences the way it did when it was new.

Yeah I agree. I think the barbican could make more sense with its built in audience to help sales.

I normally like the so called classics but the Lincoln centre cast recording sent to sleep. Hopefully it's better on stage

I did enjoy this in New York, but definitely a limited summer run would be the safest bet for it. There is just zero commercial appeal for it here unless they cast a big star - the recent concert version with some fairly high profile theatre names struggled to sell for even one night.

I would really love to see this again. I last saw the Richard Harris revival and was astonished I missed news of the Regent's Open Air a few years back until it was too late.
It may be corny, it may be naff... but I was brought up on Arthurian legends and it still stirs up something from deep down inside....

If it´s coming, I don´t see it at the Coli. Someone at the ENO team told me they were "very unhappy" with the American LCT team after all the issues that occured with My Fair Lady.

Can't imagine this coming here in a million years. It's the usual announcing a further production when something closes trying to mitigate the failure crowing. It's like all the West End mid performing shows that close announcing tours that never materialise.
If you like the score, the cast recording is lovely though (and another example of how great Broadway shows are getting cast recordings out whether successful or not :-))

I must admit, I don't know a lot about Camelot as a show.
I mean, I know of it, and the title song but other than that, very little.
But it's great that an older piece of work is being successfully revived for a newer audience.
One interesting fact about Camelot that I do know is that it was JFK's favourite musical; apparently in his private moments he could often be heard humming the title tune to himself.
