Lots and lots of Disney musicals have been in development and never made it to stage...

I must not be very imaginative, because I can't think how Coco could possibly translate to the stage. The shot when Miguel first sees the city in the land of the dead - that was so jaw droppingly unreal and beautiful. Like the stage version of Frozen, Disney Parks have been using puppets of some of the Coco characters in atmosphere entertainment. Another one where I'm going to have to wait and see the result.
