I can't see a thread for this very expensive festival which is currently under investigation by the public spending watchdog and it is having a very low turnout.
Has anyone any experience of Unboxed ?
If I lived near Weston then I would visit the Sea Monster. Although I'm baffled as to why it opened in October and will only last a few months. Couldn't it open in Spring and run for 7+ months?

See Monster looked pretty much complete but unopened when I was in Weston-super-Mare at the end of August. It will be like the Marble Arch Mound: one of those things that it's better to be inside looking out than outside looking at it.
It's only open for six weeks, and wasn't ready for any of the summer season.

Just googled it.
Oof. What IS that??
I thought it’d be something more like that gorgeous Kelpie statue in Scotland or something. Except maybe more tentacly.
This is just… I don’t know what that is. How is it a sea monster?

Not Weston, but tonight's Countryfile is devoted to a different strand of Unboxed, culminating in a 15 minute film. Thousands of participants and an audience of several million.

Perhaps the thread needs renaming to attract more posts >.<
I quite liked the final feature on Countryfile yesterday, hadn't realised it was ultimately a celebration of Brexit and feel a little dirty for having enjoyed it.

The sea monster is literally the only aspect of the festival I've seen mentioned and that was only because someone mentioned it on another forum. There seems to be a complete media blackout on the whole thing

... and must rank as one of the most misspelled attractions ever!
