I attended the matinee yesterday and got a bargain £20 seat in the middle of the Upper Circle. Just looked again to try and book this for future weeks and it looks like they've taken the Upper Circle off sale for future weekday matinees (it definitely wasn't sold out).
You are a fair way back, but there's an excellent view of the stage.
There is no cast board at the Upper Circle and my ability to recognise faces at a distance isn't what it used to be so I'm not certain who was on. But it was definitely Giles Terera in his second performance back and he was in fine form. I hope to get the chance to see him again during his very short run.
I think it was Aaron Lee Lambert on as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison and Lydia Fraser as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds. All good.
A nice pleasant audience too, with very little whooping. A perfect way to spend a relaxed Thursday afternoon. Do catch Giles while he's back - and maybe they'll even open the Upper Circle back up at a discount nearer next Thursday.

Won the lottery! Hopefully it won't be cancelled... Enjoy! I got to see Hamilton on the lottery a couple of years ago, was so excited.

April through to mid-July has just been put on sale - managed to rebook this afternoon having had our trip on Dec 18th cancelled thanks to Covid. Seeing this show has been an awful long time coming but sure it’ll be worth the wait!

Third visit tonight. Mostly maskless audience now since the rules have changed.
Highlight for me was Trevor Dion Nicholas as a very cheery George Washington. One Last Time had the biggest applause of the night. EXCELLENT!
Giles wasn't on tonight and we had Aaron Lee Lambert as Burr. He was strong and quite different to others I've seen.
Two moments I noticed tonight for the first time: The gasp from the ensemble when Hamilton first kisses Angelica's hand and Washington appearing on the catwalk during Blow Us All Away/Stay Alive.
Great night back at the theatre.

Hearing that the show has had to be cancelled mid show a couple of times this past week….
Refunds offered but I do feel for those people who have had to travel to London, pay for hotel, take annual leave from work. It’s not as easy as just re booking for another date.
Should these shows be going ahead when there is no cover available in case someone gets injured/ill mid show?

Either they go ahead and risk it, or they cancel entirely last minute and disappoint everyone? And it's not always cast illness that stops a show mid way through. Often it's a tech issue, sometimes an accident/emergency. Show cancellations like that are, on the whole, pretty rare, but they are one of the risks of live theatre. Sometimes these things just happen.

I couldn’t imagine anything worse than having to leave mid-show when it’s too late to book another show.

I couldn’t imagine anything worse than having to leave mid-show when it’s too late to book another show. But they likely don't know these things in advance? If people are ill, they call out the day of. Anyone with train/plane tickets or hotel bookings can still do absolutely nothing. And there is no warning for emergencies or tech mishaps (or sub-stages flooding) mid-show. It's not like they can cancel the week ahead and say 'we anticipate the revolve will break next Thursday, so we're just going to cancel now and give everyone chance to change their plans.' That's just not how these things work. The show must go on... until it absolutely cannot, and *then* you cancel. And hey, if the show cancels mid-way through, at least you got to see half of it. Better than none at all. And you still get an exchange/refund, so that half was free

Strikes me this show doesn’t have sufficient cover as this isn’t the first time they’ve been short of cast this last week or so.

I would imagine the shortage of actors is covid-related. You only have to look at West End Understudies to see the number of shows struggling with cover at the moment - emergency swings returning etc; and I saw someone in a show last week starting their run early while still in rehearsals, to cover a role they're not even scheduled to perform.
So I think shows are doing all they can, but if they are so short-staffed, all it takes is for one person to have to pull out mid-show and they have to abandon the performance.

Incidentally, again looking at West End Understudies, I see the three Schuyler sisters today are a 3rd cover (Angelica), a 1st cover (Peggy), and a standby (Eliza).

Is Hamilton still a hot ticket these days? I assume it does well but I had to dig right down to page 5 of this forumt o find the thread. It sells well enough and it's in no danger of closing, but it's not exactly a hot ticket anymore. It's 5 years old and there's not a lot to talk about with it other than cast changes, is all.

Great to see the new cast confirmed yesterday - I’ll be particularly looking forward to see Shan Ako as she was amazing as Eponine in Les Mis, and I think Joel Montague will make a great King George.

It wasn’t terribly full the last time I saw Hamilton (a Thursday afternoon), but the plus was I did get to move from the slips seats to a prime seat - and still have space either side.
Of more concern was just the lack of tightness in the show. Simon-Anthony Rhoden (normally perfect) was back as Burr, lost his way in a song and skipped a verse to recover. He also no longer jumps on the table during Room. There were covers on as the Schuyler Sisters, one of whom managed to introduce a new figure to US history, the great Tom Adams. Those kind of things.
I am looking forward to seeing the new cast. Joel will be brilliant.

I haven’t been to a matinee but the evening shows I’ve seen the last year seem to be near sell.
I saw the show this week in the box B royal circle, which is great value if you can get hold off it. Probably only for people that have seen the show previous.
It was my first time seeing Simon-Anthony Rhoden as Burr. I think he was the best Burr I’ve seen. I did notice the jump on the table was removed but other than that I didn’t notice anything missed.
I do find the covers at Hamilton to be very hit or miss, which isn’t great when they seem to be on a lot. Aaron Lee Lambert is brilliant in all his cover tracks whereas I find Manaia Glassey-Ohlson to be weak as a principal cover.
The current principal for King George seems to be off a lot. I think I’ve only seen him once and notice on West End Covers he is often off.
I was never crazy about Karl’s Hamilton though I did enjoy Nuno but it will good to see fresh people new take on the role.
I will miss Ava Brennan. I think she is exceptional. Her voice is incredible and she makes it look for effortless.
Hamilton for me is still the best musical in town and look forward to seeing the new cast on their opening week.

Simon was off for a long time with injury, right? Could it have been to do with the table jump going wrong? Maybe that’s why he doesn’t do it now.

He was off for nearly 5 months, but the injury was sustained earlier in the show than The Room Where it Happens. It seemed a pretty bad injury though and he definitely was wearing a boot to recover for quite a long time - I imagine the jump in The Room Where it Happens is a bit risky with some potential weakness still there. Personally I’d rather they take it out for him than risk another injury.
Saw the show last night, with an almost full principal cast which I’ve never managed before. I thought it was all in great shape and really liked Simon’s Burr (though I think he starts it off quite angrily which means he really has to go for it towards the end to be able to build on that).

Completely agree with the decision for Simon to not jump on (and off) the table. It’s not something you’d notice unless you know the show well.
This obviously isn’t at risk of closure and never discounts (apart from dynamic pricing), but you can now get a good choice of ticket prices even on the day. I feel a lot will depend on US tourist business over the summer.

Presumably the show recouped a while ago anyway?
I haven't seen it since before the pandemic, but Shan Ako might just tempt me back.

I paid £12.50 for a standing seat at Hamilton yesterday and I have to say the view was very good indeed for the money, So for any Ham fans on a budget I’d recommend.
The show was in good shape, Simon as Burr was just a joy to watch. we also saw standby Eliza (Lydia) who was excellent, standby George Washington (Aaron), also excellent and second cover (I think) king George (Peter) who wasn’t all that great.
The alternate Hamilton (Nuno) was on and he was absolutely fantastic, LOVED him. He told me he’s on all this week and next week for anyone who particularly wants to catch his performance.
Also the guys who play Hercules mulligan (Emile) and Phillip Hamilton (khalid) were both AMAZING, couldn’t fault them.
I really wasn’t keen on the actor who plays Thomas Jefferson(Waylon) , he lost quite a lot of the swagger and comedy and I thought his diction was quite poor, but the audience seemed to enjoy it. Same for the actress who played Angelica (Ava) , she was ok mostly but weak sometimes and didn’t wow me personally. Loved the actress who plays peggy/Maria too (Emilie), she was really good.
The ensemble work so hard on this show. (Jubilee) hats off to every one of them. The harmonies and dancing in Hamilton are some of the very best.

Does anyone know if Ava Brennan is back as Angelica for all the shows between now and 16th July? Website says certain performances but does anyone know more?!
