How's the legroom in Row G of the Grand Circle? I'm 6'1 tall. Brace yourself and take a cushion for your knees.

Thanks all. Refunded them. Will buy better seats for a later date. As I said previously, I think the Grand Circle is actually the best place to sit for this show. In the front few rows at least, the view is superb and I'd put up with the lack of legroom for that personally.

Yes, the view is good but the legroom is awful, so for me the Grand Circle at the Victoria Palace gets a big NO.
I'd rather get a restricted view seat with decent legroom

Same here. Can't enjoy a show in pain.
Had the same experience at Harry Potter. First row of the balcony.
Shame the normal tickets are so expensive. 200 pounds is ridiculous.

I’m going alone in August for Row D in the Grand Circle purely out of curiosity over the seating. Is that weird?

The view is fantastic, but the seering pain in my shins (my knees didn’t touch) meant that I couldn’t concentrate on the view for more than ten minutes. I’m 6’ 3” and it was one of the most painful experiences I’ve had in a theatre. The VP grand circle is now on my blacklist.

So far I’ve only sat in the stalls so I’m also curious about the lighting. I’ve not yet been having seen the entire stage and revolve.
Really it’s just any excuse to go again.
I’m 5’5” so never really had many issues with leg room.
The Harold Pinter theatre in the Upper Circle is the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been. All squashed in, terrible view and unfeasibly hot.

I don't really get the pricing. The tickets I bought last week for a Saturday evening show in May in the grand circle were 37,5. But if I look at the same tickets in November they're 75 pounds.
How is the view in the box?

I had row A balcony for Harry Potter as well and thought they were great, but I am short and had no-one sitting behind me. Royal Circle Box B is great, you miss the upper level on the near side but not an awful lot happens there.

Really? My legs were literally stuck against the balcony. Maybe because I sat at the aisle.

Looks like Marsha was thrown on at the internal of tonight's show as Eliza! I was there, she was on the whole show. Didn't realise there was something else going on, but had found it weird that the staff when I came in said it was whole main cast - guess if it was very last minute that now makes sense. But I had actually been hoping to see her and loved her performance so was really happy!

Rachelle was in some of the Hamilton West End Instagram stories yesterday, so must have been taken ill last minute.

The girls seem, from an outside perspective, to miss alot of shows. Is it just me or does it seem like that? Marsha seems to go on alot.

Well they've got so much to do, I imagine they're absolutely exhausted by the end of the evening, poor things. All that skirt swishing and hand waving can take the puff all out of one.

I get weddings and stuff haha.

Since there’s been lots of chat about seating and covers ( not furnishing fabric, understudies and the like), I thought I’d jot down my thoughts about the show, which I fear may not be very popular around these parts, but variety is the spice of life isn’t it?
I’d been listening to the score virtually since it’s release and absolutely loved it, along with all the clips I’d seen of the OBC.
Like so many of us, I booked tickets as soon as they were available, pushed the boat out on the price and couldn’’t wait to actually get to see the show myself.
I was utterly convinced it was going to blow me away. Maybe having expectations that high was part of the problem, but I was shocked to find that with a few exceptions, it left me cold.
I think a big part of that was due to some casting that I just couldn’t get my head around, particularly Jamael Westman. For me he had all the charisma of a plank of wood, precious little chemistry is with the rest of the cast (especially with Eliza which was a huge problem for me) and had nothing ‘young, scrappy and hungry’ about him whatsoever, since he carried himself like a rather stiff aristocrat from the start. Great voice, but that was about it for me.
I thought Giles Terera was outstanding and very much made the part his own, but the gulf between the impact of Burr and Hamilton in terms of performance felt enormous to me. It’s admirable to cast a newcomer if they’ve got the chops to do the job to the necessary standard of a lead, but I really don’t think this was the case here. It was difficult for me to understand what it was about Jamael that landed him the role.
Without a Hamilton that I had any feeling for at all, it was very difficult to be immersed in the joy of the production as I’d imagined I would when I finally got to see it.
I adored Cleve September ( how lucky they were to get an actor to touch the heart in the same way that Anthony Ramos did on Broadway )but I had no idea what Jason Pennycooke was doing with his portrayals of Lafayette or Jefferson ( in fact ‘What’d I miss?’ put me in mind of ‘Turn it Off’ from The Book of Mormon’). I felt that he went way over the top with characters that didn’t benefit from an extra layer of flamboyance.
For me the most impressive of the Schuyler sisters was Christine Allado both as Peggy and Maria (although the lack of chemistry with Jamael for me diffused the heat in the Maria scenes). Rachel John was ok but didn’t have as much bite/sass as I expected from Angelica and as other people have mentioned, Rachelle Ann Go was very cute in a Disney-ish way but failed to move me even in the most heart-breaking parts of the second half. Again though, without the chemistry with Jamael, she didn’t have much to play with. And I know the height difference between them shouldn’t have mattered, but at some points it just looked unfortunately comical.
I really enjoyed Tarinn Callender’s performance - couldn’t fault him. He did an excellent job with his roles. I’m not sure if Obioma Ugoala was having an off night, but he absolutely mangled ‘One Last Time’, which is one of my favourite songs in the score. He was riffing all over the place and not in a good way.
The ensemble were brilliant, but at times I really wished the choreography could have calmed down a bit.
I thought the ‘human bullet’ conceit was a bit TIE to be honest (as in The Legs A-Go-Go Theatre company in The League of Gentlemen) and there were a few other moments which felt like they were straying into the same territory. Eliza stepping forward and reaching heavenward followed by the final blackout was one of them.
Michael Jibson was ok, didn’t make me howl as much as most of the other members of the audience, so I guess it must have been my problem.I’d love to see Matt Lucas in that part ( does that make me a philistine? I just think the role would suit him very well).
I duly ovated with the rest of the audience mainly because I couldn’t see the bows. The cast looked incredibly poker-faced, which I think other people have mentioned. Possibly they were directed to look like that or just completely exhausted.
There’s no doubt that the show is a landmark piece of theatre, but to be honest, seeing it didn’t really enhance my love of listening to the score, in fact it was rather the opposite.
I realise I’m in a minority here and sometimes it feels like heresy to say anything critical or negative about such an enormously feted production, but I hope differing opinions make for a healthy debate ( and I apologise if I’ve offended any Hamilton lovers with my opinion).
I have absolutely no desire to go back and see it again, which was something I couldn’t have imagined when I first heard the score/booked the tickets. I am curious to know how the show would play with a different lead, but not enough to shell out such a large amount of money to do so.

I was referring to her holiday over the past couple of weeks, in response to a general comment about absences that had nothing to do with Marsha being on last night!

The reason for Sifiso being on Monday is that Ash Hunter is performing all week. Presumably, this is a week's holiday for Jamael Westman. I'm going on Saturday, so will get to see him after all! Ash Hunter's twitter

From her Instagram it looks as if Rachel is also off on holiday, so Miriam will be on as Angelica at least part of this week (if not all), assuming she's back from her own holiday (if not then it'll be Marsha).
