Regarding the now infamous ALW interview on Nicole departing Cats, just actually noticed that they discussed Hamilton more than they discussed all his shows put together.

ALW mentioned that the New London was the theatre where Grease with Richard Gere failed but that was before the film was released so it might have been that the show simply didn't click with audiences at the time and being at the New London didn't help.
The VP and AV while not in a desirable location do have the advantage of having good capacity and facilities.

Thank you all. As an economist by training, I found that whole segment terrific.

A thread about Hamilton where we started discussing Nicole departing Cats made me think.. Nicole for Angelica in London?
I honestly wouldn't like to cast a star in this show, despite suggesting a star for the King George character. I think star casting could work for King George because it feels like such a cameo role, whereas a rather famous person as a supporting character in a sea of up and coming theatre professionals might not be the right way to go. But she definitely can sing and has the right look for the show. Might be a tad too glam for the part, too.

The benefit of solo theatre-going! I dread to think how much you had to pay for the ticket though. Hope you enjoyed the show!
I gave up on the idea and had dinner with friends instead - I can always see the show in London, no big deal.

A friend waited for 45 minutes last week from midday and then got a premium ticket. I'm guessing if you are willing to fork out $477 and are looking for a single ticket your chances aren't too bad through the cancellation line.

I've paid less than $40 each for my last lot of shows over the weekend so I'm just thinking of it as bringing up the average!

It's interesting that she used the phrase 'best of us'. Does she mean that small roles like Hercules Mulligan and Peggy will get recast, but they will bring over the main characters?

Chris Jackson will be leaving soon as the pilot he was starring in got picked up to series and I couldn't see Renee coming over since she has family so likely would want not to relocate to London. I assume if anyone would come over, it would be Lin, Leslie and possibly Phillipa.

I assume if anyone would come over, it would be Lin, Leslie and possibly Phillipa. Chris and Renée sounded quite keen to the show in the article Spendlep posted. Apparently Lin won't join the original cast, but will join later on. Hope they at least wait until the London Hamilton leaves, it would be unfair to the London Hamilton to kick him out as soon as Lin is ready. Leslie has stated he'd be interesting in going to London. I don't have a clue about Phillipa.

Presumably Lin will know by the time the show opens when he'll be coming over and it will be in the contract of whoever plays Hamilton first when he has to leave. Maybe they will ask him to come back when Lin leaves.
Phillipa's fiancee just got his TV pilot picked up and so they will be spending a lot of time in LA. However, plenty of people relocate from/with their partners/families for 3-6 months to do shows so I don't think we should rule anyone out. Doubtful it will be all of the cast though.

I reckon Daveed will open the show over here. Personally, I'm hoping for Leslie!

I just want Daveed, is that too much to ask for?
With regards to "kicking out" the London Hamilton when Lin comes over, yes, it'll probably be covered by contracts in advance, but it's an exhausting role which already uses alternates on Broadway, maybe LonHam will have the possibility to alternate for the period.

There might not be an alternate when Lin leaves, this is definitely something that has been discussed recently. The main reason Javi was hired was to give Lin the chance to both watch the show and do rewrites if necessary, and also to give him time off to work on other projects.
For London, I would honestly rather a London-based talent to handle the opening. Once Lin is ready it will probably be timed with the exist date of whoever is playing the part. Of all the OBC members I'm actually least interested in Lin and more interested in Leslie and Rene.

I am totally into #Sam4Ham idea and dreaming of seeing Sam Mackay as Hamilton - and even more after that Hamilton Medley video from the recent concert!

Saw the show last night, bought tickets months ago, best decision this year. Absolutely loved it, the atmosphere was electric! Can't wait for the show to arrive in London. I would really like a british cast, but if some of the cast is transfering I would love to see Odom and Diggs again, mind-blowing performances! The only problem was all the young girls screaming every time Lafayette was rapping, could only hear about half of it over the hysterical shouts from the audience.
