Bo one Seems to have mentioned Jonathan Bailey so far? He’s great! He’s probably the only one to me that looks a bit too old but he more than makes up with it with his performance. He has amazing chemistry with everyone he interacts with.

No one Seems to have mentioned Jonathan Bailey so far? He's the only actor that really made me sit up and pay attention to be brutally frank. The whole thing lifted from his arrival onwards.

However - Michelle Yeoh butchered the few singing lines that Morrible has, and was really just herself for the rest of it. And they have Keala Settle RIGHT THERE in a non-singing role?!? She’d have been an amazifying Morrible, they could have written extra lines for her. CRIMINAL to not have her sing. OK, I just want to say I am not an inside man, I am not part of any gossip network or have any reputation as a spoiler poster... but I did have a cousin who was working at Sky Studios Elstree while this was being filmed and this is what I was told... Keala was originally cast as Morrible but one of these two things happened: 1. It was decided that casting a large actress as the main villain could be considered body shaming and a recast was ordered. 2. After Keala was cast, the studio insisted on a high profile award winning casting and pushed Michelle as they were looking to cast her in a very high profile project. What ever (if true) scenario, in order to smooth the situation they created the role of Miss Coddle for Keala to hopefully avoid negative publicity. That's why the Miss Coddle part is basically off cuts of Morrible lines from the play. Keala is 100% a team player and would never run to the papers and twitter anyway, but she still got a part in the film and got a nice payday.

I am 100% sure Keala was never cast as Morrible.
It went through at least 2 very high profile names before it got to Michelle.

Michelle's natural gravitas worked for everything that happened in the Emerald City, but I do agree about her singing.
