A bear? I though she was the goat-midwife! Yes but since the Animals aren't anthropomorphic in the films, I'm guessing an actual goat would struggle delivering babies, which is why the midwife is a bear now.

I'm really not sure that's better. I think you'd want something with much smaller paws than a bear!

I could not be more excited to see Cynthia is this role on the big screen, but it does feel a little bit like she is harbouring some vulnerability and then lashing out in various ways about Ariana Grande being the megastar of the two. It probably is a little bit of a head f*ck to be a seasoned, Tony winning, musical theatre performer, lead of one of the most anticipated movie musicals (maybe ever?), and be considered by many in the mainstream to be the third most important cast member after Ariana and Jonathan Bailey. Not to mention some of the genuine, horrible racist stuff that I'm sure she's getting in her mentions by the very dregs of internet trolldom.
All of the meme culture, fan edit stuff certainly doesn't seem to be that deep, but if she perceives each thing as another slight on top of all the other slights, then I can see why she takes the stance she takes.

Cynthia isn’t happy. The fandom have been playing with the image inspired by the green/white theatrical poster and to make it more like the original have obscured Cyn’s eyes. Her response For goodness sake, I can't actually cope with her reaction to this. That poster is iconic, it's a bit of a fan art, the "wildest most offensive thing I've ever seen" ... I mean, really?

Her response Ahhh just in time. One month before the premiere and Cynthia is here to remind us just how annoying and diva-like she can be! Let’s not forget the great comet debacle. I can believe she was a nightmare on set tbh.

Good old Cynth, reminding everyone that she is a thin-skinned high-maintenance diva with no sense of perspective.
I think she may be jealous of the Streisand Effect and actively trying to get a similar internet phenomenon named after herself.

I think the ‘fan art’ poster is better than the actual poster. As for Cynthia being offended - someone needs to sit her down and tell her to get a grip! Seriously…it’s a poster based on the original artwork for the stage musical! Nothing more to it than that!

and be considered by many in the mainstream to be the third most important cast member after Ariana and Jonathan Bailey. I don't know what is considered 'many' but seriously? How would people think Jonathan Bailey is more important than Erivo, when he's been in about 10 seconds of all the marketing and trailers? I think people might have a few other prejudices going on there.

I think people might have a few other prejudices going on there. I've never watched Bridgerton, but I know he's huge from that. Just a quick look at their socials shows his 4.7 million Instagram followers versus 1.2 million for Cynthia. I'm not out here beating his drum saying he *is* more important, but there is a huge demographic out there who will be going just to see him I would imagine. I'm not one of them, but they certainly exist.

www.instagram.com/reel/DBe_oIpt_an/?igsh=MTY5YWY0bmQxOTVmcw==Cynthia in a new Rolling Stone interview: “The intention is not to diminish anyone else’s version of Elbaba… [but] as a black woman who is queer… there’s something that I have that many other Elphabas don’t have… and that innately immediately makes me completely different.”

From all of the clips I've seem, it would appear that the spoken dialogue seems to be remaining pretty true to the stage show.
It also seems to have no lyric changes to any of the songs, which is actually quite refreshing.

I haven't done my own homework, but am I right assuming there will be new number in there somewhere to go for the Best Original Song Oscar?
