Thank you for the recap Kevin, I gasped too haha. Sounds like a fun night in the theatre- for the fans at least. Do you think it warrants being played in two parts?

So the cursed child isn't Albus but Scorpius. I'm assuming Harry isn't going to stay dead for long because of the time travel aspect.
How is Noma as Hermione and Paul as Ron?

I genuinely can't only think of 2 cuts - the train lady and I've already forgotten the 2nd one but there was 1 little bit in the second act! I agree about the train lady, however I'd already forgotten about her! So yes, shorten that or get rid of her completely along with her fingers. The thing I thought could be shortened was Harry's first dream.

No, I think Albus is very much the cursed child - Harry Potter's son who does not live up to the family name - Slytherin, limited magical ability and incredibly unpopular. Do James and Lily (the other Potter kids, not his parents) appear at all? It must suck for Albus if he's the runt of the litter.

The Dursley one? I quite liked that, but it was only there to shoehorn in all 3 Durlseys and Hagrid. Actually, I found the Voldemort fingers dream rather frightening, and I'm in my late 20s haha. Yes, that one, and of course that's why it's there but I felt it went on too long and it was nothing new. I could have been watching Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone at that point. I much preferred the second one. Yes, the fingers were a bit strange but I liked Petunia's treatment of Harry.

I don't see it ever closing. They might mix up the schedule a bit further down the line, but there will always be an audience for this I think. I feel a little sad for people who aren't going to get to see this and only discover it via the script book next month. It just won't pack the same punch. I'm sure there will productions worldwide and Warner Bros will want to adapt it into two or three films although I imagine that won't happen for least another decade since they have The Fantastic Beasts coming plus they'll want the original cast to be old enough

Don't get me started on Rose. The little madam says they need to evaluate everyone and pick their friends carefully because she is a Weasley-Granger and Albus is a Potter. I completely agree, I have no idea what a certain character sees in her!

Does Luna and Rolf Scamander appear at all? I'm assuming it's just the Potters, Granger-Weasley and Malfoys who appear as main characters otherwise it'd be too overstuffed.

I'm guessing Hermione is the breadwinner if she's Minister of Magic, wonder what job Ron got? Can't imagine it's a Auror like Harry.

Really surprised Teddy Lupin doesn't feature. Still got part 2 for other characters to appear. I wonder if the nest like thing which is the shows logo will feature? It must have some significance other than being a cool logo.

I completely agree, I have no idea what a certain character sees in her! Some guys like the bossy type. Look at Ron! That's true. Talking of Ron, I think the actor playing him is perfect, I loved all the versions of Ron we've seen. Nor is Hugo Weasley-Granger come to think of it. That's the one that I find surprising, it doesn't even seem like he exists, I'm sure he does but it seems strange. For those of us that were there, who are Craig Bowker, Polly Chapman and Yann Fredericks. Is Polly the girl that was in the library and ssshhed them? I remember hearing her name but can't remember when or who she is. I'm guessing all 3 are more important in the second half or have I missed something?

Who does Chris Jarman play? I'm assuming it's a villainous role.

No idea? I assumed the woman who shushed them was Madam Pince, the librarian. Really? I thought she was a student, wasn't she in school uniform? The one sitting at the back on the right, the last one to leave. Oh well, I'm sure we'll know who is who by the end of Thursday. Who does Chris Jarman play? I'm assuming it's a villainous role. Roles including the Sorting Hat.

I'm glad I'm doing both parts on the same day as waiting two days to see the conclusion must be agonising. The restaurant trades around the Palace and Prince Edward is going to see a huge boost from his and Aladdin

Wasn't Umbridge put into Azkaban at the end of Deathly Hallows? I assume she's been released since then. Least favourite character in the series although Imelda Staunton did the character justice in the films, who plays her in the play?

Is it almost all set at Hogwarts and the Ministry then? I wondered if the extended Weasley family (all the other cousins from JKR's Weasley family tree who are at Hogwarts with Albus, for example) might make an appearance but it doesn't sound as if they do?
Wasn't sure about seeing this (I like my own idea of post-Epilogue canon!) but I am now intrigued. Will still wait to read the script though I think, some of the characterisation doesn't sound as if it will sit well with me...

Albus and Scorpius have been using a time turner to change the past but accidentally changing the future. Therefore Harry is dead, Voldemort is alive and in power and Umbridge is headmistress. Interesting although surely if Harry is dead, Albus won't exist when they return to the present. It does explain the synopsis of past and present fusing together so I'm assuming Harry is able to help them fix the timeline before it's too late in part 2.

I didn't want to post spoilers, but I need to release. HOLY C**p what it good.
Several audible, collective gasps from the audience and what an ending. It was just too much. I had my own idea of how Part 1 would end. I imagine Voldemort would be back, but this was better and I have absolutely not idea where it could go.
It's Harry Potter but not how any of us imagined him
Gorgeous set, beautiful designed and there's so much of it.
The illusions were just…incredible. The Polyjuice potion scene was particularly impressive, though Bane's appearance drew a massive gasp. So many characters explored and they ALL appear onstage.
I am beyond excited for Thursday! Jamie Parker is incredible; as are Noma and Paul. Sam as Albus is an absolute star -expect great things from him.
Was it actually a real owl? I was convinced, from my seat in the Upper, that it was somehow mechanical, but it then it flew back at the wrong time, so I wasn't sure!
