Hello, I’m doing a solo trip to London in early August, seeing DEH, Sister Act and Grease. I have some free time on the second morning and wanting to do the Drury Lane theatre tour. Is the tour worth it? What kind of things do you get to see? I love visiting shows solo but worried I might feel a bit awkward doing the tour solo. Any words/ advice would be much appreciated!

Can’t speak for the quality of the tour but I can guarantee that nobody will know or care that you’re solo.

Hi TheWanderer, I did the TRDL tour solo myself a few years ago and I can highly recommend doing it. It's a great tour to do and the guides are great fun and was definitely worth doing. I wouldn't worry about doing the tour solo, there were plenty of people who did the same (myself included) and it didn't feel awkward at all and it was great to strike up conversations with the other tour folk. With the content (pre-refurb), a tour of the auditorium and stuff below the orchestra pit and a bit of history of the building itself.

I see most of my theatre solo, I actually prefer it that way to be honest. The tours and stuff like that are exactly the same - honestly, nobody cares or gives it a second thought. Why would they? I eat alone or read the news in a bar/pub/cafe - it's very peaceful and relaxing to enjoy time alone sometimes.
I've travelled all over Europe alone and taken in loads of theatre, culture and restaurants and I've never once had any kind of trouble or felt uncomfortable.
I haven't done the tour myself, but I've heard it's very good and I'm sure you'll have a great time.
Enjoy!

I also did the tour solo pre refurb. Once they have gathered everyone together noone will know or care how many other people in the tour group you or didn't come with. It was a great tour before the refurbishment and I guess it will only have got better as I imagine they found out all sorts of fascinating things during the works.

I've done the tour post-refurb and it was excellent, lots of interesting facts about the new designs as well as the theatre itself. And the cafe is great too!
