No tales of friends in high places here. My mum met princess Anne (DoE presentation) and one or two minor members of the family.
Any stories to tell?

Was presented to Harry and Meghan when I was a volunteer on a crisis support line
Also spent half an hour with Earl Spencer when he was buying watercolour materials for his then wife (was working in Arts and Crafts at the time)

I met Prince Charles twice when I was young living in Cornwall. As Duke of Cornwall he was a regular visitor. Actually it was 20 years ago yesterday the 2nd time I met him. I was also honoured to be invited to the Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in 2011 and, although I didn't meet the Queen personally I was very close to her.

I was lucky enough to get tickets for the Diamond Jubilee Part at the Palace and we actually got to have our lunch in the Buckingham Palace Garden as we were each given a wicker hamper with fancy food in it! Some of the minor royals came out in the afternoon and mingled a bit.Have personally seen the Queen 4 times on Jubilees...Silver in Liverpool, Gold in Carlisle, Diamond in Birmingham and at the concert in London. Also was at Me and My Girl in London many years ago and it was the Queen Mothers Birthday and she was in the Royal Box!

Charles and his entourage once swept past me into the RSC many years ago. Had just been to box office and was walking around past old stage door near to the part of the Swan Theatre when they came round corner and were past me before I realised who it was.

I saw the Queen once, from a distance, during her Silver Jubilee Year in 1977. I don't think she saw me which should probably be the minimum requirement for this thread. Since then our paths have not crossed.

My dad met Prince Philip in the 60's. I have a photo somewhere. My husband met them all at the silver jubilee. They watched fireworks on the river from Shell Centre & a meal was laid on for them. Fred was one of the chefs who prepared it & was presented to them.

I met the queen when I was younger. She was lovely and unlike so many people in life she really does keep her focus on who she is talking to. At the time I was disappointed to meet her as Charles and Diana were walking the other side lol but now I'm so glad how it turned out.

Not exactly a meeting but the only time I have seen the Queen was when she attended the royal premier of the film Aces High in 1976. Also passed Prince Charles on an escalator in the Ministry of Defence when I worked there back in the 70s.

I haven’t, but my Nan and my Aunt had a private tea with her at Buckingham Palace. My Nan used to breed dogs and gave* Princess Margaret the dachshund that got busy with the Queen’s corgis and created the “Dorgi”. All I remember my Nan saying was the Queen looked flawless, and the dogs pissed on the carpet.
*If you never get paid for something I supposed it becomes a gift!

I'm kind of annoyed I've never met a royal or a politician, clearly I live in the wrong area.

There was a time in the 1990s when I was being officially opened by Princess Anne every couple of years. Every time I went somewhere new, she followed. Not once, not twice, but three times it happened!
And I was there, of course, when Prince Edward re-opened the world-famous Crucible Theatre after its refurbishment.

William and Harry were two rows behind me at the Olympics, (with sporting royalty Steve Redgrave and Denise Lewis), they leapt to their feet when the mens gymnastics team won a medal.
In the run up to my aunt being nominated for her OBE she was invited to garden parties at the palace and highgrove. She said the Queen was amazing at showing interest to everyone in the line that she was introduced to. Can’t remember what she said about Charles.
