There’s really no need to be rude. We’re just discussing possibilities for the announcement here not being nasty. That's standard protocol for particular poster. This is a forum for opinions about theatre and creatives. If anyone doesn’t like that then they are in the wrong place. Please read our rules about what is and isn’t acceptable. Thank you. Sick of people thinking it’s acceptable to be cruel to others. We here to discuss upcoming shows.

A musical based on ‘the red shoes’? Or Wizard of Oz is going to the curve for Christmas 🤷🏻♀️ I adore Chess but hasn’t it only just been revived in the last 5 years? Theatre Royal Drury Lane tweeted about the announcement so maybe it is a series of concerts. It’s PCJ Entertainment which makes Treason very likely. Can’t think of what a chess piece would symbolise other than Chess😂I can’t really see a concert version of Jamie / Kinky Boots or The Wizard of Oz since they’ve all been / will be around soon.

I think if it was Kinky Boots the picture would be of a boot and not a shoe. Also if it is a series of concerts then I don't think Kinky Boots would work as a concert. Music is heavy on electronic sounds and it's quite dance heavy. Just doesn't suit a concert.

It’s defo not Kinky Boots! I think it’s a concert style performance of chess. To be performed at the Drury Lane. Could be wrong!

Leicester Curve are doing a new production of The Wizard of Oz, which will also transfer to the London Palladium next summer.

Red stiletto reminds me of the cover image for The Devil Wears Prada. But it would seem very unlikely to preview the show this way. Stranger things have happened...

The red heel reminded me of the poster for the musical, The Life. Surely it's not that?

I think people are just wondering what The Wizard of Oz having a full production at the Palladium next year would have to do with Chess in Concert at (presumably) Drury Lane? Why are these being announced together?
And whatever the third thing (💥) is.

The shoe in this clue isn't referring to Wizard of Oz...

Three concerts.
At Drury Lane.
In August.
One is Chess.

I'll wait for casting and prices first. As long as they don't do anything silly on either count, Chess is one I'll definitely go to - love that show.
Of course, I won't actually be going, as they will do something gimmicky with the casting and it'll cost a fortune.
Knowing my luck it'll be something spectacularly disappointing like Bradley Jaden and a bang average ex-Elphaba as Freddie and Florence, supported by Carrie Hope Fletcher as Svetlana. Fill the rest in to be suitably diverse, make it sound absolutely terrible and completely unrehearsed, charge £250 a ticket and hey presto.
On the plus side, there's a decent Five Guys down the road...

Decent and Five Guys is a contradiction in terms.

Decent and Five Guys is a contradiction in terms. I respectfully disagree.

How very dare they! Where else can one add mushrooms, pickles and jalapeños to ones hot dog? (Although I’d be going in Bodeans opposite if it was Drury Lane.).

The three boot options on my emoji’s are less than inspiring so they could be going with that ruby slipper to symbolise ‘Kinky Boots’. I dunno.
