much as it would be amazing-not going to happen.
bristol appointment is high politics and so will rsc be.
nothing against nancy medina but we are witnessing a big board and director shift made for a future that i dont believe will bring the best theatre either in classic or contemporary drama
it will be a narrower field.
happily i will be wrong

Oxford Playhouse is also looking for a new boss after Louise Chantal left recently.
The radical appointment there would be a male candidate as the theatre has been female run for more than 3 decades!

Just like the really radical recent appointment was the Orange Tree going for a white male Oxbridge graduate. Their lack of ACE funding probably emboldened them. Looks like a good appointment at Bristol Old Vic to me ?
