I think they were planning that way back in the mists of time, but it's only the returns queue or the Friday Forty now.

With contracts ending in May, who does everyone think will be leaving?
I sadly think Anthony will go, he's getting so much praise and is probably being offered multiple roles.

I'd assume the UK would have another extension before a transfer is confirmed. But both are inevitable really. I think from a business point of view they might want to recoup first? Given the run is sold out, it's likely has a huge advance that will lead to a quick recoupment. The budget for this must be high for a play but not super high so perhaps £3-4m tops? It wouldn't have too hard for the producers to get investors or for Warner Bros to underwrite the entire budget for them Been thinking what you said here Jon after seeing it today and you like me are interested in the production side. After seeing the show today, there is nothing convoluted about it set wise, as basically it is one set with everything else appears from sides, above or underneath. However where the budget get blown was on the effects and it would have taken ages to get them to perfection. I have a hunch that the money was spent in the development process and I would have though they had this stage set up in some hangar somewhere perfecting all the wow moments, you certainly couldn't do that in 2 months in the Palace. Given the spin off are vast for this and obviously this has a captive audience here and soon Broadway, it could also do other sit downs in other U.S. cities, before touring, then you have a British tour and international productions Germany/Dutch/Australia/Japan etc. But also this could be unique and have a life in theme parks, such as Florida or China.

In this interview Anthony say he was going to leave www.boysbygirls.co.uk/index.php/news/bbg-presents-anthony-boyleThis. "What are your hopes for the future? I really want to do more movies. With the play, it’s been ten months and there are four months left, so I’m looking forward to doing more films. “ The rest of the original cast, as far i know for sure Jeremy Ang Jones confirmed his leave I suspect all main cast will go

So pleased that Rakie Ayola is the new Hermione from May. She's great!

Accidentally seeing the penultimate performances from the original cast. Well I say 'see' my view from the cheap seats will probably be more 'is that an owl? no it's Jamie Parker'

I consider to flight and "hunting" for tickets in that time. However, I suspect that this is mission impossible Get tickets at a reasonable price I'm curious about the new cast, though they have a very high pitch set, after Boyle and Parker especially I going to palace inlat weekend in April and I'm "sure" for example boyle will be absent so in may be more confident

Wow that's a big change. Will be seeing it for the third time in June so I'm looking forward to seeing this new cast though I thought the original cast was fantastic and will be sad to see them go

I'm there mid-May so hopefully will catch the current cast if they're lurgy-free. I saw them in preview so am keen to see how their performances/characters have developed.

Hi
I think the new cast looks great! Fingers crossed they live up to the original cast, who were amazing when I saw them last year.
Another black actress has been cast as Hermione, Rakie Ayola. Originally I was a sceptic when Noma was cast as I always imagined Hermione to be an English rose type of girl, brown hair, pale skin, etc. But Noma's performance completely won me over. Do you think going forward Hermione will always be played by a woman of colour or will the best actress for the part win it? I personally hope it's always the best actress that wins out. Noma proved that! She might not have been how the majority of people thought Hermione would look like before the play, but after seeing her in the play and then reading the script in my head I could see and hear Noma as Hermione.
It would also be interesting if some more colour blind casting took place! P

They seem to be following consistent themes in casting - black women for Hermione, gingery men for Ron, men called Jamie for Harry...

I think Hermione will be always played by a non-white actress, maybe not specifically black, but casting a white actress after Noma would be perceived as a whitewashing by a lot of people.

I doubt it. The open casting call was for every single character when they were doing auditions last month.

I doubt it. They wouldn't all be sure to pass through immigration and security controls.

Jamie Parker's son is only about 6 or 7, I doubt he'd want to leave/uproot the family for that long. Plus the show sells itself so I don't think the Broadway producers will be offering a hefty salary to keep the original cast.

The broadway producers know they would have a safe pair of hands for the characters, plus they could sell off the back of their award winning performances in London

Every casting director, producer and agent in America will want to see the show on Broadway. If I was an actor in the original cast I personally would want to do the transfer across the pond!!
As for other productions opening - they will let it settle on Broadway first, very important they don't over saturate the brand (like The Ivy restaurant is dreadfully doing!) too much of it and it makes it seem less important.
Regarding the UK there is too much understage hydraulic and trapdoor work for short two month runs. I see a stop down two year run in Manchester but you are looking at 2025 or beyond. Excited for the new cast / I'm going again in June!
