Have scoured the net for what is probably an obvious answer, but are there cloakrooms at the Palace? Will they take a rucksack? I've got a friend coming with me to see the show in a couple of weeks, I went alone last year and didn't use the cloakrooms. When I went to watch the play last year, i took in my rucksack. I didn't have any issues with security. As long as the bag is a maximum size of 41 x 31 x 16 cm you should be fine. As for cloakrooms, I don't know i'm afraid. Like you, I've had a look on the internet and can't see any info. I suppose it wouldn't do any harm in e-mailing the theatre if you haven't already done so.

A couple of 'unofficial' websites state that there are two cloakrooms - one in the stalls foyer, and the in other dress circle - although I'm led to believe that not everything on the internet is true!

Apparently Warner Bros has bought out the producers of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child which means they now own the stage rights to it, a consequence of this is a change in logo to match the films: http://instagram.com/p/B2AapyQHoGn

Once they've bled every last ticket sale out of it of course!

I saw the show for the second time on Sunday, so I must have been one of the last to take a picture of the old sign!

I imagine it'll take time for the new logo to filter into other areas, it does remind me of Mary Poppins which changed logos half way during the original London run as Disney took control of the show from Cameron Mackintosh.

I much preferred the original design if I’m honest. It was more in keeping with the original book covers and helped it to establish its own identity as a piece. I don’t hate the new sign, but I definitely think that it should feel different from the films. This likely does confirm that a film will be in the pipeline too.

I’ve never really been a fan of the Harry Potter logos from the films. I definitely preferred the other version.

Knowing how impressive the play is as a piece of stagecraft, I think just a recording of it would make millions regardless. Some of the magic (pun unintended) would be lost if it was shot in a different way on film.

Well I bet that cost them a cauldron full of galleons! I don’t see them making any changes as such to the show (even uniforms evolve over time etc) but I’d like to see them introduce the Hedwig’s theme at the very start of act one.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Warner Bros has bought out Harry Potter Theatrical Productions which is JK Rowling and Neil Blair’s company set up to produce Cursed Child. I imagine aside from the logo, we’ll see Warner Bros Theatre Ventures as producer of all current and future productions

All the updated logos have removed ‘part one and two’ from outside the theatres. Press have also been invited to NYC and supposedly new Instagram stickers have been found.. ... to do with Voldemort Day, which matches the image JKR has posted cryptically - her return to twitter after a 5 month break apparently . I wonder if part 3 is coming? Ha. I always felt Cursed Child had unfinished business, what with Delphi just thrown in Azkaban. Wonder if Warner have somehow convinced JKR to let them explore the alternative timeline - where Harry is dead and Voldemort won - and turn that into a TV show?

The removal of parts 1 and 2 is interesting but TBH it wasn't really necessary as a number of two part plays like The Inheritance and Angels in America didn't have them.

I saw that they gave out 'hidden' free tickets on Broadway for several dates. Do you think they will do it here as well?

Really late to the party for this one. but have got tickets in the Friday Forty for next week! Does anyone know where the TodayTix allocation usually is? Also, the confirmation says to pick up tickets at least an hour before the start time. Does this mean they expect you to then stay in the theatre to tie in with their security system, or can you go off and come back in time for the start? I'm sure this has all been discussed previously, but I don't think I can get through 98 pages! Thank you so much.

But the box office is to the side of the theatre for Cursed Child and is separate from the entrance. So you can definitely go get your tickets then return!

Have treated myself and my favourite Potterhead to a Two show day of this next week. Looking forward to seeing it again, I have very fond memories of seeing the first cast. I hope it’s as magical.

Interesting they've cancelled for longer than most shows at the moment. I wonder if that's to do with the cast change that would be happening this month and the time to re-rehearse in a new ensemble.

Possibly, they probably need longer with it being 2 shows too. Or maybe they’re aligning it with Broadway, also scheduled to restart first week of September?
