MB has a huge fanbase who are devoutly loyal. To them MB is the best Marius, which of course he isn't in my opinion. Just as Colm W fans believe him to be the only JVJ, another myth, again in my opinion . MB is very popular and seems a nice chap, also puts bums on seats. Years ago, I did a concert at the Royal Albert Hall where Michael was a soloist. It was the day after Woman in White closed, and he didn’t come to the rehearsal with the choir the day before because he didn’t want to miss a show. When he walked into rehearsal on the day, I realised all over again why I was once a huge fan. The charisma was off the charts. He actually apologised - to the choir of amateurs! - for not being there the day before. And he was fantastic in the concert. He seemed like a good bloke. I’d love to see him in this, if it wasn’t so pricey and if it had a different Alex. I saw the final cast of Woman in White and as far as I remember David Burt was the last Count Fosco. Did Michael Ball rejoin the cast for the final performances?

It was a long time ago, maybe it was just his own last scheduled shows. I wasn’t a fan of Woman in White so maybe got it mixed up.

I never liked the placing of the song at the start, out of context, before we’ve met the characters. The lyrics seem even more bland and generic without a sense of who is singing them. Not necessarily- remember this is a memory. Alex's memory of the first time he fell in love. That why Guiletta says " Alex, it' all in the past!" In contrast, I can imagine this duet version being used while Alex is in Jenny’s bedrooom, attempting to resist temptation, while George is listening outside. A situation that really does change everything for all the characters in the show. That could work!

Is decent artwork coming for this? I saw a tacky ad the other day with just a really cheesy looking photo of Michael Ball.

Are there any plans for a new cast recording? I'd find it hard to believe that there wouldn't be. Don't forget they'll be a whole new demographic discovering the piece for the first time. It's not unlike Disney re-releasing all of their animated classic films for a new generation every 7 years or so.

I hope you are right but don't forget we get a zillion JCS and Sunset and proportionally less with the rest of the repertoire

I'm super excited to see this- its a great score. I couldn't stand the LCE rendition on radio 2- v. schmaltzy- I do hope the score isn't hammed up throughout- liked the original orchestrations. Does anyone know if they are tinkering with the story line given the high level ick factor regarding Jenny and Alex in second act? I can't see it going down well in 2023! ps. I don't have a view whether they should change it or not- but I would have thought if they don't it will be mentioned in reviews and will put some folk off seeing it...

Will it Tour? Will there be a cast recording? How high is the stage? Will Michael Ball sign my autograph? Will it tour? - maybe, but unlikely that Michael Ball would do the tour after an extensive London run. Will there be a cast recording? - unknown at this time but maybe. How high is the stage? - unknown at this time but front row is £90 per ticket, so I should hope the view is good for that. Will Michael Ball sign my autograph? - depends on the day. You would have the highest chance before a matinee or after the evening show. You can also write to Michael at the theatre or BBC Radio 2.

Katherine Jenkins? That would add some comedy value.
