I hope we see something from West Side Story included - the recent film showed the simple beauty of the lyric ‘I have a love and it’s all that I have' Christine Allado posted an Instagram story of her rehearsing Maria's part in the Tonight Quintet earlier.

I'd be surprised if Sian Phillips and HBC sang tbh. I didn't know Haydn Gwynne was in the cast, I've always wanted to hear her sing Could I Leave You. Or she might reprise her Joanne and sing Ladies who lunch
Petula Clark will sing I'm Still Here

Oh I wonder if Judi will send Sing in the Clowns?
As if we are all too stupid to know that’s exactly what she’s doing 🤣

I will be in Wetherspoons- The Montague Pyke on Charing Cross Road- across from The Phoenix Theatre- beforehand from Approx. 6pm to eat something light (I'm too excited) and then will walk down to the theatre.

Do we have any source for a running time? I have now got out of my early start tomorrow but still need to plan actually getting home! I am in the middle of the row in the grand circle so a speedy exit is unlikely!

I emailed yesterday about an approx run time. They’ve emailed back this morning to say approx. 3 hours. That’s me scrabbling round for a decent priced hotel!

I'm in the middle of the second row from the back so I'll see the back of your head I emailed yesterday about an approx run time. They’ve emailed back this morning to say approx. 3 hours. That’s me scrabbling round for a decent priced hotel! Why couldn't they start at 7pm? I'd make my train then!!!

I know, the 8pm start just makes no sense. I imagine it could end up being close to an 11.30 finish by the time you take into account extended applause and speeches etc

Such a shame this couldn't haven't started at 19.30. As a one-off event I suspect it will run late and finish well after 23.00.
Nobody will want to leave before the end but a few will inevitably have to do so or miss last train home. I'm lucky living in Kent - booked a 23.40 train from Victoria and there is another one at 00.40.

If no hotel there is a 23.59 National Express coach to Leeds for £26 and a 23.30 Megabus for £15 both from Victoria Coach Station, which is about 10 minutes by taxi from the Sondheim.

I need to get to Tottenham Court Road by midnight to catch my last train. Last resort can get a night bus which I haven't done for years (if they still even run).

If I don't leave at 23:00 I can't get home! A cab should get you to Waterloo in under 15 minutes so if it's the 23.40 to Salisbury you'd be okay to leave at 23.15 - just in case that makes a difference !

Thanks for that. I’ve managed to get booked in somewhere and change my train tickets though so not too bad. Figured I’d rather relax and enjoy it than worry about dashing for the last train home.

Having been involved in gala type performances in the past, my guess is the later start time is intended to give the cast and crew enough time to do enough tech rehearsals to make to evening as error free as possible.
On big one offs like that, you want every second possible to get things right.

I did manage curtain call of Jerusalem to platform in 18 minutes using the tube from Piccadilly circus. I was sat right by an exit door rather than the middle of a row for that though!
