It's a shame it's closing 3 weeks early but it hasn't been a bad length of a run overall. But the comparison with Guys & Dolls is interesting, as that shows no sign of running out of steam yet. I wonder why that has fared better than Crazy for You - the immersive factor with G&D perhaps? Guys & Dolls is simply a better show, and a better known/loved property, production aside.

Such a shame to cut it short so near the end, though the amount of huge discounts around it’s like a minor miracle it’s lasted as long as it has.

Well, this is a shame. I had hoped to make the final performance but this will be impossible for me now.
I only hope to catch it one more time before it closes. Such a special production. I’m grateful we got it for as long as we did as it wasn’t looking all that positive a few months back, around the time of the Times article.
As a side note, I understand Jack Wilcox and Kate Parr were on as Bobby and Polly tonight and I think that’s a first. Interested to know what that was like if anyone on here was in attendance?

Given how much they've been discounting from Day One, it's a surprise it was allowed to go on as long as it did and it makes sense to cut the last weeks in January, when even much more popular shows are struggling to sell.
I wonder if they got a good deal/discount on the Gillian Lynne because the theatre owners knew they wouldn't be able to bring in a filler before Sky's Edge, so it was still better for them than letting it sit empty.
Personally I much preferred this to Guys & Dolls as I couldn't get on board with the "immersive" staging at all. But yea, G&D is a much better known property, I'm sure many are drawn to it for the novelty factor of this staging and I guess the Bridge Theatre is also smaller, even when you take the standing room into account?

Sadly the writing was on the wall from the start. To be honest I think it’s done well to hold on as long as it has. Still a shame though as it’s a nice production.
I don’t think any production aspect of Guys and Dolls has got anything to do with it. Guys and Dolls is just a much bigger name for the public so I think any production of Guys and Dolls (within reason) would do better than any production of this.
People increasingly like familiarity and known quantities.

Pleased to hear it! Would’ve been a shame to have missed the last performance given your enthusiasm for this production.

Here this afternoon. Was a little disappointed to see that Charlie Step isn't on, but I've had the pleasure of seeing him before so looking forward to seeing Jack Wilcox.

Same. Both leads were off, but wow I was really impressed with Jack and Kate, fantastic performances. I’d still love to see Charlie though so I’m planning to go again. Does he have a pattern of absences like specific days or is it just random?

The lw theatres Web site has been very good with info boxes on the booking page stating which shows Charlie is off for and Jack will be on, bar unexpected/last minute absence. It currently has Jack leading the shows November 27th to 29th and the matinee of December 28th.

Saw this last night - what a joyous, joyous production. So light and funny and with such wonderful costumes that made for such a visual treat. In fact my friend and I spent the whole time grinning like Cheshire cats and I'm still on a high today. Also, what a difference it made being able to watch from the fourth row and in a theatre where the stalls are proeprly tiered. I only wish I could do that at every production I see.
I did notice what looked like a couple of genunine mishaps. A hat fell off one of the actors heads and the other actors did well to avoid kicking it/tripping over it when dancing. And a giant yellow ring shaped object went flying off the stage and just missed the audience in the front row. But as someone who used to love It'll Be Alright On the Night, that only added to the fun for me.

Saw this for the 3rd time this afternoon, after hearing it is closing early I wanted to get a visit in ASAP when I had a free moment!
We had an emergency show stop due to an ill audience member in the far stalls, just before the first gun fight in the saloon. Charlie stayed in character as Bobby and announced the show stop. Hopefully the audience member is okay.
I sat in Row F of the Stalls which was fabulous to be so close to see the details of the costumes and bouncy as the seats moved with the dancing on stage due to the vibrations!
There wasn't many empty seats so it is a shame it is closing next month, but understand this classic style musical is not everyone's taste.
The show is still joyful on a repeat visit and the dancing sublime, it's a fun piece of Theatre that doesn't make your brain hurt - as the plot is so fluffy you know what's coming!
Look forward to seeing what the cast do next as there is lots of talent on that stage.

Amazed at how the smoothly the cast dealt with it and how swiftly the show moved on. I had previously been to the show on a Saturday towards the end of the summer and on that date, there were quite a few empty seats. I assumed the full house today was because of the announcement of the show ending and people rescheduling January tickets. Such a shame it’s ending so soon, it’s such a wonderful show.

Does anyone know if the lottery ticket seats still include the front of the stalls? Had wanted to book for December but only mid stalls were available. Perhaps I have to wait for the Friday one week ahead email?

Never saw them on the lottery. They're on the official site. I see they're selling some for Nov 28th but not center front row. Has haemorrhaged money every week since opening. Good of the producer not to have called time weeks ago. Yes, it’s a classy production but it’s a scaled down revival, identical to the 1993 production. Absolutely nothing new to see if you saw it at the Prince Edward. As a consequence, I don’t think it will win any gongs come the Oliviers. This season has a lot of fresh competition.

I saw in on Saturday performed to a full house, although a large number of audience members arrived late and entered the auditorium after the first two numbers. A lot of empty seats with about 5 minutes to go and I was worried they were going to stay empty. Must have been either a very slow moving queue to get in or just laziness from the audience members in question. I know you can get very short notice tickets for very cheap prices even on Saturdays, so I'm guessing midweek performances aren't sold out. Shame as it's a very entertaining show.

Did you see the show in the afternoon or evening? The tube was shutdown for some time on Saturday due to protestors or just to protect the public. I was at Old Friends and walked to Waterloo to get the Jubilee Line to London Bridge to see Pacific Overtures. Bus service was also detoured around Trafalgar Square. The Stand had no vehicle activity. That being said the Thursday Evening performance of Crazy For You had a few rows of empty seats in 2s and 4s. Love the show.
