I did laugh out loud when Graham Norton said about Systur “and thanks for Princess Beatrice tagging along” 😆

Spain was rather easy on the eye. Assuming UK doesn't win, I wouldn't mind Spain winning so they perform again!!

Sam did really well, he can hold his head high no matter the result.
No great stand out performances to me - Estonia was a catchy song, as was Norway. I also enjoyed Netherlands and Sweden.

Watching from France is a very different experience.
The commentators have been so snarky about everyone who sang in English.

Watching from France is a very different experience. The commentators have been so snarky about everyone who sang in English. They all (mostly) want to do it (sing in English) though don’t they. I suppose France can feel more superior than they usually do because theirs was in Breton/Celt or whatever it was. I loved their song but it had more Indian vibes for me so.. sorry France!

I wonder if Mika might end up hosting again if the UK were to win? I didn't realise he was so popular in Italy.

My kids are watching this with me- they’ve never seen the UK get more than a point or two, and we are all sat here in disbelief

Second place - not too shabby. Congratulations I think Moldova was second in popular vote

An inevitable win. That much was clear for weeks.
A huge second place for the UK. Winning the Jury vote was amazing.
And if the conflict continues, the Ukrainians might have to ask another country to host. The UK would be very well placed to do that. As we have done in the past

Well that was amazing. We know that a lot of the votes for Ukraine were in support of the country rather than the song so in a way we had the best song.

Ukraine’s 438 points from popular vote was about 200 more than any other country and …. not far from maximum of 468

As we have done in the past I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it ends up in London or Salford but with perhaps Ukrainian talent hosting. I don't realistically see how you can let Ukraine host when it'll take time to rebuild any of the major cities.

Tonight was the UK's 16th 2nd place position. First for a long time admittedly.
But still what a track record

I'm thankful of the result, this year's competition felt like a vibe of love and unity from start to finish and the double whammy of Russia being kicked out and Ukraine winning really underlines that. Also let's face it would we really want to be the country to knock Ukraine off the top spot
I agree it does make you question who will host it next year, it's uncharted territory so we will have to wait and see what happens in the coming months.
I don't know if anyone else picked this up but we picked up the Marcel Bezençon award for best song which is a second for the UK, not a bad consolation on top of coming first. I think Sam Ryder has been a great ambassador for us throughout the competition and his optimism and spirit has really done us proud.

This year's competition was a joy for all the right reasons. Well done to UK Ukraine and Spain on the jury vote and Ukraine Moldova Spain and UK on the public vote.
