I'm sure all be revealed in tomorrow's Daily Heil.
I've heard a rumour about Anyone can whistle but nothing in the tweet indicates that. My other thought is Mincemeat transferring? It certainly deserves to

Seems like a good shout, especially with the movie coming out too.

Please let it be an establised show and not something new. They need to make some money after the last few productions there.

So there is established and then there is Anyone Can Whistle.... I'll go because its so rarely done, but it's not a favourite.i dont know if it's been tinkered with over the years but the book is a mess.

Oh my word! For once I was right!
Excited. I love the score to Whistle and its themes that go on in the hotel bedroom.
My issues with it is the book (cut lots) and Simple is not clever but it thinks it is (would it work better as a ballet section?). Regardless, I am excited.

It's not one of my favourite Sondheim shows but I will definitely go and see it. Have seen it twice previously once at Bridewell with, I think, Janie Dee and also at Jermyn Street.

Alex Young cast as Cora - she's sublime and I'd watch her play practically any role but I would've expected her as Fay rather than Cora. I'll be very interested to see her and also to see who is cast as Fay!

I was at both of those too; you're right it was Janie Dee who played Fay at the Bridewell back in 2003. Hapgood – Edward Baker-Duly Fay – Janie Dee Cooley – Mark Heenehan Magruder – Aaron Shirley Shub – James Smillie Cora – Paula Wilcox I just got a shock looking back at the cast of the 2010 Jermyn Street production - I remembered Issy van Randwyck was Cora, but at the time I had no idea who the fabulous Fay was: Hapgood – David Ricardo-Pearce Fay – Rosalie Craig!Cooley – Leo Andrew Magruder – Karl Moffatt Schub – Alistair Robins Cora – Issy van Randwyck

This is great news!
One of the few Sondheim's that I've not seen.
I will be there

Well that is my tickets booked, I had tickets for the production at the Union a few years ago but was so horrendously hungover I couldn't face going into London!

Booked. Quick mention of Southwark's excellent PAYG scheme. £60 up front for five tickets, never expires and their booking system puts that operated by many larger venues to shame.
£12 per show is an absolute bargain.

It's a great scheme. I'm onto my fourth or fifth membership now and use my tickets every time I go and see something here, often booking on the day. If anything it means I go and see things I normally wouldn't. Long may it continue. As for Anyone Can Whistle, who can pass up the chance to see a rarely performed Sondheim show.

Can't believe it was that long ago. Life is racing by. I love going through old programmes of things I've seen and seeing names of actors who were just starting out.

God what I wouldnt have given to see Rosalie in this! Honestly still would, get her and Hadley in it!
I'm so excited for this, one of my favourite shows in one of my favourite venues. I liked the Union production done a couple years ago. I'm excited to see its being done in traverse, I hope its a good production!

Thanks for the tip. I have just bought one, but I can't work out how to apply a PAYG ticket to my booking. How do I do it? UPDATE: It looks like you have to log out and log in again for it to work after buying the PAYG, then they appear on the final payment screen.

What a happy announcement! It's one of the few Sondheim shows I've seen on stage just the once (at the Bridewell) and, second to Pacific Overtures, the one I most wanted to see revived.

Very excited for this one. I know so little about it apart from a couple of the songs!

I really loved it, Izzy was great too. I think she'd been in Lord of the Rings before this so it was lovely to hear her sing up close in such a small theatre. I really like this show so pleased to see it return.
