Yes, if you look at the theatre from the perspective of the band being behind you, they play out more to the band and the left side and the neon set favours this side more; that said, it is truly in the round and much of the action also took place at the top right. I would suggest this is best viewed from Gallery 1 or 2 for the spectacle, then probably the immersion of the floor if you can hack three hours on your feet. I'm not sure the stalls offer the best experience for this show but will find out when I go back in a week or so. Looking at the seating chart on the Bridge Theatre, is it best to be on the side of Door D and A, Door E, Door B and C, or the side directly opposite from Door D and A which doesn't have any door marking? Door E

I'd agree with the Door E side

We stood between Doors B and C and had a perfect view. We were also well poised to grab one of the interval tables...

Good news for the Bridge if they have a hit on their hands and it can refill their coffers. But disappointing if you're a Member expecting to get priority booking for several shows a year. (Having said that, I'm no longer a member but when I was I always found theBridge pretty decent to their audience, so I'm sure they'll sort something out)

Indeed, fill your boots. Quite the pause for new productions, though. This could time very well with Bridge 2/the 'sister space' opening at Kings Cross (600 capacity). No formal announcement I am aware of (about the theatre) but the Hockney exhib is now open on that new site. Hytner and Starr could concentrate on that for a period. Maybe we should anticipate a theatrical announcement soon .. www.whatsonstage.com/london-theatre/news/kings-cross-new-theatre-2021-bridge-hytner_49024.htmlAlso, given the G&D extension, you wonder if members will see priority booking extending to the second venue.

When the Hockney show was announced, Hytner said that he anticipated that artist-led shows would run a the Lightroom for "a few years" before conversion to theatre. I expect it depends on how well the Hockney show is selling, to determine how that business model is working compared to a theatre.

tbh, I just don't know but that announcement was, I believe, pre-covid. I have been to the exhib and it's not a theatrical space - it's the basement with limited facilities and, I imagine, limited council approval given public access limitations (ingress/egress). There's nowhere for even a backstage area, as best I could see. Probably fit 140 seats with a small stage.
I think the theatre must be ground level and above.

Best seats to see the band for this? Are they visible well from seated stalls and circle?

Best seats to see the band for this? Are they visible well from seated stalls and circle? Yes they are - probably best seats if you want to see them/be close to them are the ones directly next to them. There are some nice Row B seats in Gallery 1 next to the band that are £55ish. Go four seats along and they are £95. Otherwise you'll have a good view of them from anywhere Gallery 1. Gallery 2 you can't see them (but you can certainly hear them, the sound was glorious on the first preview up in the gods).

I think a year or so would probably satisfy the demand, I'm sure the two Nicks don't want to have just one show in their theatre for the next few years.

That’s exactly what they want, and why they’ve put millions of pounds into this production. The intention is that it’s a long runner to bring money in

It's certainly got more 'repeat visits' vibe than Ralph bloody Fiennes standing there moaning about Covid for 90-minutes, reciting David Hare.

Pretty well perfect production of this classic. The leads very classy, choreography great, staging great and all the minor characters tip top. They didn't mess about with it. Should do well…..( I’ve already rebooked..)
If you are in a rush at the end, then don't wear a big coat or have a big bag cos the cloakroom collection is epic.

Funny how people come out thinking different things and bring different things to shows.

Daniel Mays on C4 Sunday Brunch this morning enthusing over the show. He seems like such a nice guy and is so excited by the show. Asked "how long are you in it for" Said he is "presently til July but there are talks of extensions" ...
It's a great interview, if you can find it on catch-up, he's on throughout the show eating and drinking, but the interview is 2 and a half hours in / 30 mins from the end of the broadcast.
