I have to agree that this was the weakest opening episode for any season. Very disappointing. None of the girls really stood out for me.
Was it just an episode to crown Miss Charisma Uniqueness Nerve and Talent??
Was it meant to be like a beauty contest? That can only be the reason Ru was using a hand held mic.... bizarre.

Start your engines because the race is finally on!
This is the Drag Race we know and love, after the false start last week. No mini challenge but a fun main challenge,with the girls as cheerleaders. Characters are starting to come through, the bitches showing their true colours.
Despite everyone dismissing her, Valentina is showing herself to be one to watch, great character, fun VT clips, and beautiful runway looks.
The result was an obvious one, but the other person in the bottom 2 didnt really do that much better IMO. They might be better TV down the line.

I like Peppermint and Valentina. They are my faves so far.
I wasn't surprised with the result and who left. Saw it coming since even before the show started last week.

Why oh why do queens come on this show and complain when there is a sewing/design challenge? It's like the Snatch Game, you know it's coming, so prepare!!
It wasnt a great episode, but i'm glad the losing queen has gone. She relied totally on body (always a no no) and clearly didnt know the words to the Lip Synch.
It seems some queens are coming in, just hoping to have a life on the circuit afterwards. Good luck to them, but they'll never be crowned the season winner.

I must admit, I love this show and have watched all Seasons thus far (Biance Del Rio is the Ultimate!). So no spoilers, but I watched the first three episodes last night of Season 9 and firstly, Gaga was genius on this show, I hope they bring her back! I know he is representing UK/US but I find Charlie really, really damn annoying. I also don't really like returnee Cynthia. But my favourite at the moment is Nina Bo'nina Brown. At this point in the competition, she is the one I am wanting to win!  I don't know why everyone was sad to see the first Queen eliminated, she was very clearly not up to par with the other queens in terms of their fashion and overall look the moment she walked in, didn't find her funny onstage really. However, playing with the sympathy, I did feel sorry for her when she clearly didn't grasp the challenge as fast as the others. Based on the lip sych, I thought it would be her going as soon as it begun. I dunno, I just didn't feel she was right here at all. |

Apparently all the Drag Queens make up is being picked up on more than usual because they are filming for the first time this year with HD Cameras, so any sh*t makeup jobs are noticable more. |

Aja's make up isn't good for the TV. I know she has rough skin due to an accident when she was younger but I still expect better from someone who is very popular outwith the show! She looks flawless on Instagram but I think that's because she has a filter. She SLAYED the lip-sync though!
I think it should have been Farrah in the bottom 2 along with Kimora but that would have been a boring lip sync and may have sent Farrah home who has a huge fan-base. So I think they picked Aja because they knew she would send home Kimora who, she may be stunning, doesn't seem to be able to do much else.
After week 3, Nina and Shea are still my favourites, and Valentina is starting to grow on me.

I wanna be on the Cynthia band wagon, but I am just not. She is so annoying and she was brought bsck for (in my opinon!) nk reason. She competed last time and lost fair and square. Her illness didn't develop until after.

But her constant CUCU crap is wearing thin  I think they only brought her back for the storyline with the cancer and Pulse nightclub which I hate to say as I'm not usually a cynic. |

I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of guest judge Jeffrey Bowyer Chapman too. Woof!

Nina is still my fsovurite to win this week, the most creative of the laides there in my opinion. I agree, the right one definately went. She clearly didn't want it that much if she didn't even try, what a waste of a role that someone else could of had to really wanted it. Even if you are not a performer like that, you fight for your place in the final!

Not knowing how to sew is one thing, but not knowing how to lip synch is mind blowing. Did you really think your talent would get you the crown and you wouldn't have to lip synch??
I know he's too old to do a death drop, but at least do something.

Such a shame for the eliminated queen. But she really did nothing to even try and keep her place. I can't help but feel whether Ru's comments cut deep and so she refused to perform out of protest. During the task she was all over the place too. Definitely the right choice.
And when is Eureka going to mess up and end up lip syncing? I've really not taken to her at all.
