Completely agree with MKB, really well done, very slick, comical, well cast production. I’m extremely critically of most dross these days but i thoroughly enjoyed this.

I saw this in Manchester - super funny, great performances and set. Music wasn't much but it was a super afternoon. I hope it comes to London. I just wish it has a better score (Back to the Future issues!)

It was their first choice appaz and if they can wait til April who knows? Would they do a little tour first to drum up word of mouth; do the big atg venues maybe? Is the set tourable?

Awkward time to tour though for a few months, since many larger theatres will be tied up with panto and also they probably won't want to oversaturate the market with their product before trying to open it in London.
April is a long time to wait to get a theatre though. It's a substantial gap to keep everyone on hold for.

April is a long time to wait to get a theatre though. It's a substantial gap to keep everyone on hold for. Not to mention touring theatres have shows booked months if not years in advance. There's not really much they can do TBH a lot of the bigger theatres are simply not available, it's either wait or compromise the show by squeezing into an unsuitable venue.

Yes and I do hope they wait. I would love to see Mrs Doubtfire in London and while I'm not overly familiar with the Shaftesbury it does seem like the best fit out of all the options.

I would guess that this will go to the Shaftesbury.
The producers were fully expecting a pause while they waited for a theatre to become available, and I suspect that April next year may be sooner than they expected.

How often (if ever?) has it happened where 2 shows have played the same venue in New York/West End, one after the other. Because that could very well be the case here.
Aladdin/Poppins at the Edward/New Amsterdam is the closest thing I can think of.

If the show isn't ready to come in straight away then it wouldn't be difficult for the Shaftesbury to find a short filler or even close for refurbishment as they've been doing it slowly for the last few years.

Oh Mr B, you were adamant that it wouldn’t be going ANYwhere in the WE a few weeks ago because it’s rubbish and wasn’t selling!

I'm sure Gabe will defo return as Daniel/Doubtfire. I'm Hoping most of the leading cast return. Unsure if Cameron Blakeley will be returning as Frank Hillard. As he has recently been announced for Newsies. Which is running at least till February. But I can defo see it extending.

That was before this theatre became free One of the great myths of the west end is that things are planned out months/years in advance - when sometimes these situations can change at the last second. look at the spring awakening transfer falling through !

Are all the meringues being sent out a hint? Seem to remember something about a pie in the face in the film.
