I went last night and really loved this. It's funny, touching and emotional. Starring Josie Lawrence, Joanne Howarth, Gemma Brodrick, Nana Amoo-Gottfried, Mickey Jones and Nathan McMullen. Sisters Sylvie and Garnet live together. Sylvie's mental health has been very fragile for a long time, and Garnet has always looked after her. Sylvie is a Norma Desmond-style character, who thrives on her self-styled fame as an unnamed girl in one episode of Z Cars, and thinks the world revolves around her. It's Garnet's birthday, and the guests are arriving: - Mickey-Joe and Lee Lee - Sylvie's sons born 20 years apart - Alyssa, Lee Lee's relatively new girlfriend - Frankie, Mickey-Joe's boyfriend of 20 years As the celebratory drinks start to flow, secrets and revelations come out: Was Garnet and Sylvie's father really a philanthropist? Why was their mother wearing a sling the day she left? Was Lee Lee and Mickey-Joe's father really the same man, an artist who only visited Sylvie twice? How old was Sylvie when she had Mickey-Joe? What secret has Garnet been hiding? Why are Lee Lee and Alyssa acting so suspiciously? It was an intimate performance, and so well acted.
