Saw this again tonight and love love loved it again. New cast members were just great, particularly Neil McDermott as Evil Lord Hector, putting a whole new comic spin on the character.
Shocking how Heathers gets a transfer before this.

Saw the matinee today and I just love this show.
Rob Houchen acts and sings the part fantastically, I just don’t think he looked geeky enough but he acting and singing made up for it.
I think they’ve tightened the show up since the last run and it was funnier than before.
Sad I won’t get to see it again this run.

So got to the see the show this afternoon, despite a stuff up at the Wetherspoons (a long story- food never arrives, it was too late, got refunded, was almost late) and this was lots of fun..
Really great performances from all involved. Great singing and character development.
Daniel Buckley was mot on a Feris so this role was performed by one of the writers of the show Chris Wilkins.
For me personally, the stand out performances were from Scott Paige as Theo and Neil McDermott as Evil Lord Hector. In fact, the more time he spent on stage, the more he grew on me.
They've got themselves a fun, great little show here. My only recommendation is they could do so much more with the set.
I was unaware of this but apparently they have a Super-fan Sunday Q&A with the cast afterwards so I hung around. Got myself a Eugenius Tough Man Lego figure for asking a question and two posters (hello eBay).
Fellow board member David was sitting directly in from of me. Lovely too meet him and have a chat.

^ Was there too. I think what made it for me this afternoon was the atmosphere. Lots of repeat attendees it seemed, and my sister who was seeing it for the first time loved it too.
Some improvements from last time - the actor playing Lord Hector is a big improvement, as is the new Super Hot Lady song. The whole thing seemed tighter and better than last time.

After a 7hr marathon yesterday watching Imperium, this was definitely what was needed for a Sunday afternoon at the theatre. A 2hr show where you can just switch your brain off and have an absolutely great time. Admittedly I didn’t know too much about it prior to today but after having a quick listen to the OCR a few days earlier and tickets going for £30, i thought it was worth a punt since I loved the Toxic Avenger at the SWP and was in a similar vein to it. The whole afternoon was just great fun, with the preshow 80s music and really fun musical numbers sung excellently by the cast and great music provided by a small but brilliant band. With that and all the 80s film references, and Brian Blessed doing some VO work what isn’t there to love about it. I think it really helped that the superfans where out in force today and the auditorium pretty much sold out really created a great party atmosphere with everybody clapping along at various times. Having talked with anthony40 during the afternoon (it was great to meet you!) as he said in his review, I thought there would have been more staging , but I think given more space and money, this show could be a set designers dream to come up with some wonderful stuff. While Rob Houchen and Laura Baldwin where fantastic as Eugene and Janey, for me Neil McDermott as Lord Hector stole the show. It was just so funny but without being OTT. If you haven’t seen it already, please go and see it. It’s a great show and I’m sure it will put a smile on your face.

I forget, does the Scott Paige character have a song?
I remember thinking they should do more with the character.

Great thanks David! Looking forward to this one! Forgot to mention that there is a bit of audience participation with one of the songs. All completly harmless mind you.

Had a great time seeing this tonight!
It's funny that I've been putting off seeing this for a long time thinking it's not really my thing...it's the best show I've seen for a while and a real feel good evening!
The cast are incredible and the energy is infectious.
I'll be back!
5*

Also thank you david for your advice on loud noises. It makes me feel like a child but it really affects my enjoyment of a show. I was absolutely fine with this so you were quite right! I'm hoping one day I'll just get over it and it won't worry me anymore. Until then I'm very grateful for all of the help I get from fellow board members.

Sometimes it’s best to know this stuff beforehand so at least you know it’s coming. It’s the unexpected noises and gunshots that get me! The show is is great fun isn’t it? I loved it because I could just switch off and not have to concentrate. It’s just theatrical fluff with some great songs to create of a party atmosphere. As I said in my post show review,I think the staging could have been better if given more money and space but the cast were fantastic. I definitely would watch it again if I was down in London.

Warwick Davis was on LBC being 'interviewed' by Steve Allen (luckily it wasn't just about Steve and his obsession with brussel sprouts and halogen ovens.) This was on at 6.00 am and I only caught the end, but he was talking interestingly about Eugenius. It's repeated tomorrow at 9.00 pm or available on their website.
I absolutely loved the show last time round and was sat behind Warwick and his family.

Saw this last night and loved it. Yes it’s daft but very funny at times and some of the songs are terrific. All the cast are very good and the two leads are really excellent . A standing ovation throughout the theatre. They’re doing a 2 for 1 on Monday to Thursday on top two price bands which makes it great value. Code is EUGALLSTARS.
