A look at the seating plan for the next days shows massive availability in a relatively small theatre. If it's really full, it must be shifting a lot of last minute seats and at least some of those probably at a discount. Add the constant offers across the run, I assume it can just about break even. I don't think these numbers are good enough to consider moving to another theatre, especially with so many bigger new shows opening after a long drought.

I think the Garrick is the end of the run for Bonnie and Clyde in the West End, and that's fine. It's a good-not-great show and it's done very well and now we all move on. |

Was good today, don’t think it was quite as strong as at the Arts, with the sound certainly a bit quieter and a bit of intimacy lost. Still very enjoyable though and a great show - a real shame it was totally snubbed in the Olivier Award noms.

I went to this on Saturday. Was really excited as have liked quite a few songs since the Broadway album came out and missed this at the Arts.
It exceeded my expectations and I think it is (just) four stars from me taking account of the performances overall.
I thought Frances Mayli McCann was fantastic. Jodie Steele was also excellent, couldn't keep my eyes off her in the chorus numbers. Jordan Luke Gage also very good but the female leads stole the show for me.
The set was better than I'd expected to, albeit I thought they could stretch to a whole car!!

Just got back from seeing this for the first time. I went in almost blind, having only heard the cast recording of Raise a Little Hell beforehand (which sounded even better live on stage).
As for the rest of the musical, I found the story very absorbing and even weirdly moving in places, to the point where I wanted to see Bonnie and Clyde grow old together (probably because it played very fast and loose with the truth).
I thought Frances Mayli McCann and Jordan Luke Gage were both very good singers and had excellent chemistry together.
I also loved the special effects and the set.
However the songs aside from Raise a Little Hell just didn't do much for me. I prefer big number, fast moving songs and most of the rest were quite quiet ballads. Perhaps I should have listened to the other songs before going, but I like having an element of suprise when I go to see a show.
I also didn't like that they started with the ending, with the actual ending of the musical seeming abrupt.
Overall this was just about a 4* for me as it had enough memorable moments. However I wouldn't be rushing to see it again if it ever came back to the West End.

Positives for me - performances were pretty universally brilliant - the leads are obviously fantastic and both have their outstanding moments, but for me, Jodie Steele as Blanche really stole the show. Staging, set, sound and light design were all good too, although yes a whole car would have been nice!
But otherwise I did come away with quite a few criticisms and felt a bit short changed given the richness and potential of the subject matter. The book plays HUGELY fast and loose with true events which is very irksome. I feel like a lot of things were referenced without being properly explained or explored - their fame/public reaction, the historical context of the Great Depression, the legally grey actions of law enforcement. I felt like we spent far too much time focusing on the sexy/romantic angle of their infatuation with each other. And even that felt repetitive and cliché, and again probably did not reflect the true situation that accurately.
And yes the ending is terribly abrupt. I don’t mind the start-with-the-ending framing device, I quite like that. But we never quite got back to where we started! And just a little bit of epilogue, immediate aftermath of their deaths, addressing their legacy, would have been good.
The score has some really good moments but is otherwise is a bit samey and not hugely memorable to me.
3* for me. An excellent production of a disappointing musical. I definitely want to see Jodie Steele and Frances Mayli McCann in whatever they do next though!

I finally saw this earlier in the week and really enjoyed it.
The fanbase really are crazy though aren't they. I don't follow any of them on Twitter but they keep popping up regardless. Currently arguing amongst themselves on twitter about why Jordan doesn't leave by the stage door and blaming other groups of fans for this. My favourite comment about another fan was "I see this person everytime i am there". So you are complaining someone is there as much as you... OK.... the reason he avoids the stage door is all of you I imagine!

Sorry to go all geeky, but your probability theory logic is wrong. Let's take an example. Suppose you attend 10 out of 100 performances, and see the same person at all 10 shows. If they went to exactly 10 shows, the chance of it being the same 10 shows as you is incredibly small. The likelihood is that they attended most of the 100 shows, i.e. considerably more than you. |

Bonnie and Clyde will be out on tour next year. Venues listed on ATG Tickets - Manchester (19-23 Mar), Glasgow (16-20 Apr), Woking (23-27 Apr), and Milton Keynes (18-22 Jun).
