What could they do to make people see Eddie and Jessie? They have two options: extend the stars or add matinees/ late night performances? Not sure if either is feasible? Depends how long it goes on for, and how the shows after they leave are selling too!

Perhaps they could go ahead with the planned second cast, then bring the originals back for a further run (schedules permitting)?

I’m thinking/fearing that I won’t get to see this with my booking at the end of next month, but the Pet Shop Boys have just played Liza’s recording of Maybe This Time in their takeover of Radio 2 tonight so I’m hoping for the same..

Interesting article in The Observer yesterday about the challenges of keeping shows up and running. It's not only about Cabaret, but this is as good a place as any to post the link. Life is a Cabaret...

Interesting article in The Observer yesterday about the challenges of keeping shows up and running. It's not only about Cabaret, but this is as good a place as any to post the link. Life is a Cabaret...Hmm, it’s an interesting article and I have no doubt the challenges all productions are facing. A few lines though - “and we’re a new production so the understudies aren’t ready to step in yet.” - yeah… 6 weeks in and you really should have understudies rehearsed. See: The Music Man, where Kathy Voytko went on with 8 hrs rehearsal in one of the first weeks previews. David Pugh is also in denial. P&p(almost) was never selling out. And that’s not all Covids fault. “ Last week, the production lost £22,000. “Our running costs are increasing but our audiences are dipping. We’ve sold out but we are playing to about 35% of our audience,” “Running costs £65,000”

Does anyone know if there is any merchandise that they are selling? When I went in previews, they gave you a programme which doubles up as poster (free) Not sure otherwise since if there is merch. Maybe tweet them?

If anyone finds out can they let us know on here please. I'm hoping there is, at least, a programme now. Hoping they sell them at the box office so I can get one when passing my next.

I want pages and pages of lovely photos if I’m paying £15. That is Broadway pricing right there.

I enjoyed this but didn't love it. This was nowhere near as good as the Sam Mendes production IMHO.
Thought Eddie Redmayne was excellent, but didn't care much for Jessie Buckley's portrayal of Sally. Probably not her fault and just the way she's directed but her tomboyish Sally didn't quite cut it for me.
The orchestra drowned the words at times and the choreography is nothing to write home about. The production as a whole is decent enough and has a good set design, but I don't think it will survive once Redmayne leaves, unless they cast another big name.
Overall, slightly disappointing, but glad I saw it

Sorry to ask this here, but as a foreigner I'm a bit confused. I decided to come to London no matter what, mostly to not lose my Cabaret ticket, so I also need to get that antigen test and I'm not sure how that works.
When I look at the NHS website, I see a lot of pick up points for test at home kits - is this what I need? Basically I go into Boots in the morning, pick up my kit and... then what? Or do I need to do an on-site test somewhere?

Thanks! Apparently I can "pre-order" a pick-up, so I'll do that. That said, there's no shortage of Boots and such in Central London and I got time to hunt around.

Yes, but they won’t just give you them these days. You have to have pre-ordered them.

Unless they have changed the system (again) since I ordered some an order doesn't guarantee getting some, they just need a code to keep track I think. Luckily I only had to try 2 pharmacies to get mine. I believe the story that they have the stock its the logistics which are tricky so hopefully it will improve. If you have a friend in London may be worth them grabbing you a box full in advance as they aren't linked to an individual.
Back to Cabaret, I am getting excited for my second trip as I'll be in the stalls (back row but still!)

Yes, but they won’t just give you them these days. You have to have pre-ordered them. You don't need a code, for some strange reason, at libraries. Our local always has stock and will happily give out 2-4 boxes of tests. I needed extra last week, went to four chemists as I was passing doing messages, all had a sign up on the door saying they were out. Slight detour to the library on the way home and they had boxes and boxes and boxes.
