Personally, I'm getting entrance to a laser tag arena.

Due to the ongoing Covid travel restrictions I have had to return my Cabaret ticket for the matinee performance of December 1st. It's one stalls ticket F17 at £ 75. Available now on the Cabaret/ATG website.

Maybe it’s been given a totally swish remodel recently (it’s been three or four years since I’ve gone there) but that clip reminded me of the toilets in Heaven 😂

Although I'm looking forward to this show, I have to say the marketing campaign is fairly lacklustre. These silent videos and quotes from the show on the same background each time aren't very inspiring. Must have spent all their budget on the Halberstadt corn!

Inspiring enough to have a £14m advance.

Inspiring enough to have a £14m advance. Where's that number from?

Yes that number is absolutely not true.
Moulin Rouge has a whopping advance , but Cabaret doesn’t come close.

I'm so excited to watch this later this month!!! I'll be visiting from the USA and hope that my day 2 covid test at LHR will be sufficient (if it's negative of course.)

Oh dear. Mr Redmayne looks like he's in a school production - pulling 'interesting' body shapes.... I look forward to hearing his terrific singing voice really 'nailing' those big MC numbers. That's going to happen , right? Right?

That's going to happen , right? Right? I'm sure Mr Redmayne will do just fine. I dont think the role of Emcee really has any "big MC numbers". But it will be interesting to hear your opinion when you see it. Are you going to see it early in the run or a bit later?

Yes , the MC does have 'big numbers' - including the opening number 'Wilkcommen', 'Two Ladies', 'If you Could See Her', and often they 'import' the number 'Money Money' from the movie to beef-up the MC part. Which is sure to happen here. Seeing it mid-run.

I'm at the 2nd preview so will post my comments next week. I'm expecting it to be wonderful.

None of the roles in Cabaret demand a legit voice, so the whole performance is far more important than the actual singing. How can anyone dismiss a performance from just a few rehearsal photos? Give the guy a break!!

I’m not expecting him to be particularly exciting or dynamic in the role. He is so stiff at the best of times.
No one can come close to Alun Cumming in the role, but I wish him all the best in giving it a go.

If this was the Sam Mendes production of Cabaret, you might having a point in saying he won't be as good as Alan Cumming, but this is a new production and therefore a new interpretation of the role. You cant compare apples to oranges.

Let's not forget 'I Don't Care Much'! My favourite song from this absolute gem of a score Agreed. And quite possibly one of my favourite musical theatre songs period. There was quite an interesting discussion between Sam Mendes on Alan Cumming’s podcast recently about how Kander and Ebb came up with this song for one of the 80s revivals with Joel Grey (post-movie) and it’s also a great podcast about their production too with a brief mention of this revival, which I highly recommend. I’m looking forward to seeing this in February now. Think it will be something special, hopefully!

They're leaving it a bit late to announce these lovely cheap table seats available through the lottery aren't they.

Most shows are doing their lotteries a week in advance now.

Does anyone have any insight as to dress circle seating? I have tickets in Row D which (with the new layout) would usually be around around F-G. Is that because they’ve replaced all normal seats with cabaret-style table/chairs?

Still no nearer to getting the person I’m going with to agree to a test. Fair chance I am going to miss out and have to try and get a solo late in the run somehow.
