Sally Ann Triplett goes in as Schneider, but will need to wait for the next pairing to be able to see her...!

Hmmmm! I had Layton pencilled in to take over from Johannes in Kinky Boots at some point but no harm in doing a few months in this first.
In the nicest possible way though (and I say this as someone who liked him in Jamie and loved him on Strictly), this new casting is quite the comedown from where this production started isn’t it…

How will they make Layton work with the Emcee arc here? And I feel like I have already seen what he will do with it.

Sally Ann Triplett goes in as Schneider, but will need to wait for the next pairing to be able to see her...! I wondered when Sally would take on the role. I saw her as Schneider in Paris and she was wonderful. The other casting though… it’s a steep decline.

Christ they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel. Surely this show can’t last much longer?

OK I'm with Being Alive. No way can I stomach Layton. Rhea I didn't recognise until I read the Heartstopper connection. She could be good to be fair, but roll on the next cast lol

Will be in attendance in October (or one of the alternate Emcee dates if Rhea gets good word of mouth)

Christ they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel. Surely this show can’t last much longer? The show still sells very well on the days people like Cara are out, but just be rough observation, she helps shift seats at higher pricing. I think the demand for the show in audience numbers is still there.

Very intrigued by Rhea - she is younger than I would have expected for Sally, but I really like her in Heartstopper, so hoping she’ll be a good Sally.
Layton, I’m afraid, I don’t see as the Emcee - in everything I’ve seen him in, he plays a version of himself - hopefully he’ll prove me wrong and I’ll be eating my words, but this is the first Emcee casting that has left me decidedly unenthusiastic.

Sally Ann Triplett goes in as Schneider, but will need to wait for the next pairing to be able to see her...! Same. No way I would pay money to see Williams. I absolutely can't stand him. (And no, I didn't even watch Strictly)

As awful as Layton may be, I actually think he stands a chance of being a big hit at the box office. He and Nikita have a crazy loyal and quite big following after strictly.

I'll be seeing this again in August and am delighted with the new casting, especially Layton (who I loved in both Jamie and on Strictly). Great to see an actual musical theatre performer back as one of the leads and also good that they have also (finally) broken away from the #Cabaret-leads-so-white thing (limiting actors of colour to the Cliff role was feeling tokenist).

Layton is atrocious casting. First time this production gets it so wrong. Sounds like Frecknall was too busy opening the show in NYC to sign this one off…

If Rhea gets good reports I'll go to one of Laytons days off.

I can't imagine Cabaret closing just yet although it seems to only sell nearer the time.
Given ATG spent a lot on the Playhouse, I could see them keeping the theatre like that for the next show.

Never heard either of these sing, so won't weigh in. Am excited about finally some more diverse casting though... Is it at least half a shift towards some more proper MT performers again? (obvi not for Rhea but yk). Strictly + Heartstopper seem like less big draws than people like Cara, Jake etc.
Also - WHAM went hard - Layton looks brilliant in the promo pics!

Rhea is a Bristol Old Vic grad so while she’s not done stage work, this isn’t a case of them hiring someone without a trained background.
These two will absolutely be bigger draws than the last couple of pairings.

I hope Layton keeps the drag out of it. It’s not drag.
Either way, with every cast change the idea of spending circa £200 on this becomes more preposterous. I am destined never to see it.

Row G of the Dress is £50. That's probably better than giving £25 for the back of the Upper Circle, which is SO high lol.

No, it’s £80 if you have to book ahead as those of us from out of town have to do. Also, I’m not paying £80 for 7 rows back in the circle. £80 should get you a decent stalls seat.
