What about the Upper Circle? A seat I sat in is now £50 less and other seats in that section seem to cost less. Have I imagined all this lol. Wait whaaat? For me, whenever I've gone on the atg website and checked there, all the upper circle seats have been £30 or £50. Never more and never less. I'm not sure how a seat you sat in is now £50 less, but sign me up for that lol. I’m an idiot, I meant Dress Circle not Upper Circle. Sorry! My brain was still thinking about the Upper Circle after my previous post.

Depends on the play, on who they know attached/interested, and their current prospects. I welcome stars to the stage. I don't welcome the ridiculous prices producers charge off the back of it, knowing how relatively modest their pay is. It's pure greed. It's called Show Business for a reason. Making a profit shouldn't be seen as greedy IMO. Profiteering should be seen as greedy by definition though. I would reiterate my reasons for feeling this way - but they have been well established by now in this thread and I don't want to repeat myself. There are some very cynical practices at play that I don't agree with - and never will as either as a patron (customer) or employee.

They really are missing a trick by not selling Kit Kat's at the bar.

That was absolutely sensational. I'm pleased I waited to see Fra and Amy. They were perfect.
The experience of the Kit Kat Club was very cool. I'm so impressed with what they've achieved. The show has approached the script as if previous productions didn't exist, and it's a fresh take without being purposefully "different" I think.

Saw this last night. Studiously avoided all reviews, posts etc but clearly couldn't avoid all the talk of the transformation of the Playhouse into the Kit Kat Club. Whatever the conceit, it is really an impressive achievement. And the measure of schnapps you get for your token is the most generous I've had in London since Jim Callaghan was PM and I wasn't legally able to drink.
I guess that for many to see this now is like turning up at a party after the champagne has ran out and they're serving lambrusco. But much as I would have liked to have seen Redmayne, this is still an impressive production as many others, including the Oliviers' panel, have said beforehand and at greater length.
Never having seen the stage musical before, my knowledge of this comes from the novels and the film, and I understand both are very different animals. The one thing Id say is that, good as Fra Fee's performance is, I believe the Emcee's original conception as an impish, comical yet malevolent, figure out of Commedia del Arte in tails is more to my taste than a stronger, physical presence. Amy Lennox was in great voice and gave a commanding performance.
No programmes with the new cast so I avoided the moral conundrum of not buying a programme for my collection due to the absurd pricing.

I saw it last Monday (11th) and the programmes had the new cast. Did they have no programmes at all?

Think they like to call it a "brochure" rather than a programme as it's 15 squid. Have to say it's beautiful though. But once read mine has gone into the box with the hundreds of others I have never to see the light of day again.

A Kit Kat and Club biscuit collab? Jessie filmed at home eating a KitKat and her understudy seen on stage with the tagline "Have a break, have a kit kat" as Jessie enjoys her chocolate biscuit.

Are they still checking Covid tests at the door? Or is proof of vaccination sufficient to get in, now?

Are they still not selling posters at the theatre?

I actually got a poster for free when I asked to take a picture of the cast board and they said no, but gave me one of those foldable poster things with the cast list on the back

What’s the problem with taking a photo of the cast board?

they have a strict no cameras policy anywhere inside the venue. When you go in they give you a sticker to put over your phone camera so that you can't take pics of any of the interior/stage/foyer etc. I didn't think they'd mind the cast board, but evidently they did

I took a picture of the cast board, with ushers right next to it, and no one said anything. They also don't give out stickers anymore, at least they didn't when I saw it 3 weeks ago.

They gave us stickers last Sunday! The ushers also told off someone else I know who went last week when they took a photo of the cast board. Might just be dependent on the usher because honestly they aren't losing anything by people taking pictures of the cast board.
