Has anyone noticed that sales are a little...slower...than ideal? The show is so strong I hope it can pick up but I wonder if we're headed for an 'Old Friends' situation. The show’s target audience/fan base seemed to be Gen Z when I was at the Donmar (the loudest applauders/most overt criers), so not sure they’ll be able to stump up the West End prices as much as they were the Donmar.

Anyone know/have thoughts on the chances of a Broadway transfer?

I saw this last night after not seeing or hearing anything about it, apart from knowing that it's about a mum with bipolar. I purposely waited until the next day to share some thoughts as I always feel I'm a bit too reactionary when I post straight after a show.
Act 1 was probably the most moving pieces of theatre ive ever seen. Im a crier anyway, but this had me weeping throughout most of it. I've never had an experience where act 1 ends and the auditorium is just silent, it felt like a funeral.
All 6 actors are brilliant, performing at the highest level with both acting and singing. For me, the stand out was the dad, I felt his emotion and believed his character so much, I found his performance captivating.
Act 2 dropped off slightly for me, it definitely didn't have the flow and dynamic of Act 1. I still really enjoyed it, but there was an obvious shift of tone and I just knew there were no more highs coming. Although the view from row E in the circle was very good, I feel the chair became quite uncomfortable in Act 2 and this definitely played a part on my enjoyment of it.
I thought the songs were all pretty great, and I know if I listen to the OBCR in full it will all come back to me, but at the moment I'm Alive is the stand out that ive got on repeat.
This is a 4 star show for me on paper, a better act 2 would have got it 5, but its a definite 5 star in my heart.
Also, reading 58 pages of this after the show yesterday, I think there is absolutely no way Hannah Waddingham would have been suited to this 😅.

Really wasn't in the mood to see this tonight (or in the mood to leave the house with the weather), but I ended up really enjoying it. Had a cheap restricted view seat in the grand circle, but didn't feel I missed anything and the sound was great.
Regretted missing this at the Donmar, so pleased I finally got to see it.

Saw this tonight after seeing the first preview at Donmar and it’s only gotten SO MUCH stronger. Caissie has rightfully gotten tremendous praise but I just need to single Jamie Parker out, who just amazed me. His performance has grown so much since I saw it last and it’s maybe one of the best male performances I’ve ever seen on stage. He astounds me.

He made me openly sob in act two last weekend, such was the power of his performance.

Went in utterly blind.
Please, God save my soul maybe the one time I have just been constantly crying throughout the last 15 minutes.

Question that mightve been answered already, heard a rumor of a Broadway transfer next february/march. Anyone know more about this?

I’ve seen three persisting rumours online so I’ll just summarise them here (obligatory warning to take these with a pinch of salt especially considering that at least two must be false):
1. January/February/March 2025 transfer (It’s mostly people either saying January or February/March) 2. Summer 2025 transfer 3. Postponing to a 2026 transfer (reasoning for this mostly seems to be how stacked next year is in terms of revivals and potential Best Actress in a Musical Tony nominees)
Caissie would obviously transfer with it but I’ve also seen several rumours about Jack Wolfe and/or Jamie Parker going too. Jamie transferring seems to be based more on him not returning to TCCOBB than anything else but people have clutched at thinner straws and been right.

I enjoyed this so much more than when I saw it at the Donmar (I actually upgraded my rating). The piece and music clicked much more and I thought Jamie was vocally much better too. I also had the u/s Natalie at the Donmar and I preferred Eleanor by a mile.

Managed to get Rush tickets for this on Saturday matinee (as I was up anyway for Dolly)
This is a master class, must-see theatre and I've quickly recommended it to every stagey person I know. I've been lucky to see Caissie in all her London musicals and I'd let Jamie Parker lead me into battle, but I don't think either of them have ever been better than they are in this production.
I do think the last half an hour could maybe be trimmed up a little bit, just the odd verse or lose a little reprise here or there... but this is mainly just me REACHING for some criticism, I genuinely LOVED it.

Hopefully I've got this spoiler thing right...SPOILER AHEAD IF NOT! Saw (and LOVED) this recently. I like to think I'm good at working out stage trickery but... {Spoiler - click to view} How in the hell do they do the blood effect?! I wasn't expecting it at all and was amazed.

When I was sitting in the circle at the Donmar (second viewing) I kept my eye on it and it shot out two jets of the 'blood' which slowly spread in time for the reveal to the front of the stage.
I also saw a matinee where the mechanism didn't go off, so that's why I think it's a remote control thing!

{Spoiler - click to view} How in the hell do they do the blood effect?! I wasn't expecting it at all and was amazed. {Spoiler - click to view} I think there's blood packs inside the box at the bottom and inside the car toy that she wheels along the floor, that can be triggered either by Caissie when the stage revolves and she's slightly out the way of audience sightlines or it's triggered using some wireless mechanism. With the two blood packs, they can give the illusion of two blood pools. The car toy must be hollow so they can fill it up with blood and trigger it; I did think it looked like a very unusually big toy from the Royal Circle The box must have small plastic stubs/legs so the blood can come out from underneath. No one will see the bottom because the box is filled with jumpers and clothes, and no one thinks to look underneath either when she brings it out. The blood mixture itself is likely just coloured water, so they can clean it up with the towels easier, but it's probably diluted to hell and back to give it that thick black-redish appearance. When it is released, it probably just splashes out because it's not that thick of a mixture, hence why they do it out of audience sightlines. I was like "wow I wish blood was that easy to clean up " The final effect is incredibly dramatic. Everyone's too busy crying their eyes out anyways to notice.

One thing that I love is when you notice it massively depends on where you're sitting. When I saw it at the Donmar I was very far stage left, and the first time I saw it at Wyndham's I was in the grand circle, both of which you notice it pretty early on. It was noticeable much later from the Royal Circle (even when looking for it), but I could hear some gasps from upstairs, and I know that it's not visible at all from the front of the stalls.

I’m getting ready to head to the airport to fly over tonight. Any idea if there are any upcoming absences? I’ll be there Friday evening and I can’t wait.

Their instagram account responded to someone today saying there aren't any disclosed upcoming absences. Barring illness, I think it's safe to say you'll get the full cast.

Ben Heathcote is making his debut as the Doctors today according to WestEndCovers on Twitter He was excellent. Since Trevor never missed a show at the Donmar, I've been very curious to see how someone else might play the role. Have you seen the show before with Trevor playing the doctors? And if so, what did you make of Ben's portrayal in comparison?

Are they still miming the Doctor's rock singing? It looked kinda weird at the Donmar.

I have a ticket for this that won't be going to use, for tonight at 7:30. Royal Circle, 4th row center. If anyone would like it please let me know. Just don't want it to go to waste and maybe go to someone who couldn't afford to see the show, otherwise.
