They timed it nicely to get the sun casting shadows from behind the band onto the grass to form little rhombus shapes. Oh, and Nicholas Witchell is now the most hated snivelling creep in the whole world. Congrats! Why? Didn't watch it Just his hideous presence and his claims to have exclusive insight into what various royals are thinking. People were demanding the BBC set up a complaints line just for him! |

Huw Edwards did the BBC coverage. I was watching the beeb and never saw Nicholas Witchell? What was he doing? He appears to have been designated the BBC's body language expert for the small part of their coverage that descended to Daily Fail levels of banality. |

He appears to have been designated the BBC's body language expert for the small part of their coverage that descended to Daily Fail levels of banality. I searched after Karloscar's post to try to find out what Witchell did. I wasn't going down any Facebook rabbit holes and my computer has a block against the Daily Mail and Express sites so couldn't click on those. Apart from the above only link I could find was Nick Knowles complaining about comments he made about William and Harry's body language. That the that bit got everyone up in arms? For balance I did find a link to the Morning Star complaining about Witchell fawning over the Royal Family |

Was so weird. Huw Edwards saying that ~Meghan, Duchess etc wasn’t there because not cleared to come. She is pregnant ffs and late on so can’t or shouldn’t fly. Also he was talking about her as if she couldn’t hear him while saying that she is probably watching. Could he not for once have said something along the lines that we are sure she would have wanted to be here and we are sorry she can’t be but appreciate the reason and look forward to a happier event...imo he should have shut up for most of the time and allowed us to experience the silence and the atmosphere. He wittered on and on. I turned off the sound for a while but thank goodness he shut up for inside the church. The filming, the camera angles etc were pretty good, the filming of the piper was worthy of an Oscar, but they cant get the commentary right at these events, can they?

Well, I’m not a Nick Witchel fan but he’s been studying this lot at very close quarters for years. I wouldn’t disregard his opinion too fast. |

I found the filming of the piper slightly disconcerting because the audio & video didn't go together at one point. The sound was evidently being recorded by a fixed microphone so we could hear him moving away. However the camera zoomed to follow him part of the time. So for a few seconds sonically he was moving away but visually wasn't, which I found a disconcerting mis-match. |

There was an option to turn off the commentary. I tried that but it also took away the background music which I was rather enjoying so I decided it was worth putting up with Huw after all! |
