and it is also the reason they are just shipping the available US tour set over to minimise costs. Genuine question as I'm not familiar with licensing around the world, but why ship this set over instead of the replica World Tour one, which isn't currently in use as its upcoming China dates were postponed? Cameron has no interest in producing the original version any more is why (and he has nothing to do with the World Tour, which is RUG with local producers). He has the rights to Australia but sometimes waives them (e.g. he had nothing to do with the last revival with Warlow IIRC). He also needs to get some more money out of that ghastly Laurence Connor version before it's permanently junked (to be superseded with the version now on at HM's, i.e. the diluted original). Re the outdoor staging, nice set but weird that they'd build a huge staircase only not to use it for the Red Death's entrance. Instead he's flown in super slow and it looks weird.

I've seen many of these Sydney outdoor productions and there's always the game of wondering how they are going o shoehorn in the fireworks, and the always do. Feels like the Crummles in Nicholas Nickleby always putting in their prop water pump, whatever the production.
