So working from home the past year i have revels made the change in radio stations to Magic FM.
So, throughout the day I'm listening and all of the songs that I grew up listening to throughout the 80's are classed as classic rock- that how you know you're getting old.
As part of this conversion I dowloaded the app to discover a whole programme called Magic at the Musicals!
What a pleasant suprise! Where has this been!
I'm listening to it now. Quite an eclectic mix.
It's very different from Eliain Paige's or Mr Ball's show.
Give it a go guys!

I've spent the past year listening to Magic at the Musicals while working from home!
The playlist can get a bit repetitive but they do occasionally broaden out into more obscure shows (they went through a 110 in the Shade phase recently) and different songs from the Hamilton cast recording than just the opening number. They take requests on Twitter too
It does hugely cheer me up, nothing makes a working day more bearable than putting on my best Norma Desmond or Eva Peron and belting a classic when no-one else can hear me!

We have talked about it on here before, when it was first launched, but sometimes on here threads move fast, Then you could set you watch by the song list and guaranteed to hear ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ approximately every hour, however recently they’ve expanded their catalogue and I do enjoy listening. Not as good as the Elaine Paige Show, which I listen to each show 5/6 times, as a better way to find more obscure songs from musicals. A better way than listening to Cast Recordings as I tend to listen to stuff I know. But once done with Elaine, I am listening to Magic. theatreboard.co.uk/thread/7326/magic-musicals-new-radio-stationMy Cast Recordings have been neglected. With the temporary hiatus in theatre and content, it is a great way to discover the old stuff. Anyway a good nudge to contributors on here, who might have not seen the original thread or simply forgotten about it.

I’ve been listening to this for a while now and really enjoying the station and having a sing along in the comfort of my own home. There have some really interesting interviews with WE stars about their shows and careers.

I could just imagine your delight when you selected Magic and settled down to listen to stuff like Elton John, Alison Moyet and Foreigner and your sheer delight to find a radio station devoted to musical theatre, I bet you couldn’t believe your luck! And still couldn’t believe it until you heard it.
A good thing with Magic at the musical, there is not much in-fill commentary, so can cram more songs in, where the exact opposite with Elaine Paige.

My new car I got in the Autumn has digital radio, and I was delighted to find Magic at the Musicals. Any passengers are now forewarned that I will be belting out showtunes as I drive, that's the condition they must accept if they need a lift anywhere. I have to try and stay on the ball when sitting at a red light though!
