Oh he's bound to be in it. But to be fair it'll actually be a pretty good fit for him for once!

It would be great to see the musical out on the road again soon! We need a bit of cheering up after all we have been through and this would be the tonic!

Interesting choice to adapt into a film. I've always wondered what Spamalot would be like if adapted for film. Maybe this will encourage producers to revive the show for either a new tour or West End revival. James Corden to play all of the knights? I hope not, I'm sick of seeing him in all these stage to screen adaptations, he's just terrible in all of them! But like what robertb213 said, it could be a good fit for him.

I would LOVE to see the original Palace production which was based on the Broadway run dusted off and brought back and updated. It was done so well - great orchestrations, visually strong, with some fantastic performances (not least in Hannah Waddingham). Every iteration since has become more like a (bad) pantomime, with stunt casting and simplifying the score diminishing the original. The UK cast recording is a world away from the Broadway recording and a back to back listen makes you realise how cheap and poorly performed it had unfortunately become. I assume we’re stuck with the second rate panto version for the foreseeable, but maybe a movie version will jump start plans to bring back the original for a run.

I tweeted about this news, someone replied saying "Please don't let James Corden be in it!" And Eric Idle liked that tweet 😂 lol

Meryl is playing Lady of the Lake I'd rather not see Meryl snog Corden (if he were to be cast as King Arthur)

I saw it on tour at the opera house manc. Can’t remember who was in it but generally speaking it’s a stunt casting smorgasbord. Todd Carty maybe? A couple of funny/good moments but my memory of the show is that it’s not very good. But then again I’ve never found much of the Monty Python canon to be particularly funny.

Spamalot has had a history if stunt casting in recent years hasn't it? When I saw it at the Playhouse in London, Dick and Dom were King Arthur and Patsy. It was surreal hearing them swear, to put it lightly.

I saw the original London production and loved it. I also liked the cheapo production that followed 10 ish years later. Its a good fun show that relies a lot on audience interaction - can this be recreated on film?
Would it be like a film version of a panto?

It's going to be an interesting poster - the film...based on the musical...based on the film...based on the legend...

I think the casting of this will make or break this film.

Not my favourite musical (by any stretch) however I am up for any movie musical being made as I subscribe to the theory that if they make a movie of a musical, then they'll make another one.
What a shame health wise Tim Cyrry is not up to reprising his role.
