So I'm currently watching this on BBC 1 and thinking this could so easily be adapted for the stage.
I don't know too much about stage direction, but I have seen too many musicals to now that many obstacles on stage can be overcome.

Recreating oceans on stage need some really clever stage craft and I cant think of any shows that have really done it well (though i didnt see the recent Life of Pi)
No wafting blue silks please, and definitely not the terrible fringing at Prince Of Egypt

Very simple but beautiful and effective. |

We should have seen by now how La Belle Sauvage should have tackled a large amount of water on stage...

I love this Disney film, but it would need to be done with some incredible stagecraft to justify a stage adaptation

I was thinking about it.
Yes, more songs. The ones already used are pretty strong.
The chicken and the pig could be animatronics.
The massive crab using puppetry.
Yes, the water and its prominence is the storyline (it's almost a character within itself) could pose obstacles, but I believe wish some clever techniques, this could be overcome.

It’s already been adapted by LMM and is available through Musical Theatre International to under 18s in the Broadway jr range. Physical theatre by the company is suggested for the ocean.
