Gary Wilmot also appears to be attached to this. Unclear as who though (it'll be either Lord Oakleigh or Billy - most likely Oakleigh if they're having Megan as Reno!

It's turning into quite an event now. Just the tonic everyone needs during these tough times.

I don't really have interest in this as a show itself but I have to say the casting is drawing me in.

As if I wasn't already excited enough for this with Megan... Felicity!
The age of the actors being cast seems utterly bizarre, but I assume they know what they're doing!

Maybe it's being cast with those most likely to have been vaccinated! That said I had no interest in this until now - Felicity however just might get me there. I have no idea who MM is, never heard of her before this to be honest

Intrigued to see who they cast as Erma opposite Robert Lindsey.
Penny Keith?
June Brown?
Patsy Palmer?
Dame Maggie?

As far as the age of cast members goes - it's only Megan Mullally who is a fair bit older than the role is usually cast (though a 67-year old Chita Rivera played Reno in 2001), and she certainly reads far younger than someone eligible for a free London Oyster card. Also Reno isn't too age specific, she's certainly not written as an ingenue (Ethel Merman even in her 20s was more of a character actress). Robert Lindsay and Gary Wilmot are both younger than the actors who played the roles in the 2011 Broadway production, and Felicity Kendall isn't that much older than the actresses who played the part in that revival.
I thought that Sutton Foster and Stephanie J Block were both good as Reno (the latter singing the part particularly well) but whilst they are both true triple threats neither of them, nor indeed Patti LuPone or Elaine Paige, are natural comediennes, whereas Mullally has time and again shown herself to be a great comedic actress - which will be of huge benefit to the role and the production.

Surely it'll be delayed then? Openning has been postponed to July 5, but it might be postponed further if they still want to do full house performances.

Can I ask who you booked with please? 😊 London theatre direct.. Thank you, that's who I am with. Should of been going on 15th May but haven't got a new date as yet. If it's 4 weeks after I am going to have to change it as i'm away, hope they can do this as really don't want to miss it. Been a fan over Megan Mullally but over 22 years
