Confirmed to be in-development, currently in the planning stages.
Nothing to do with the Princess Di/Steps musical, which they state they have nothing to do with ie. Just someone pitching an idea on the Internet lol x x x

Listening to ‘Steps Gold’ is like being relentlessly petrol bombed but with cans of full fat 7-Up. It just doesn’t stop. Two and a half hours of it might actually be bad for ones health. They’re perfectly pleasant in small doses, and have a couple of stone cold bangers, but being battered into submission isn’t for me.

Each to one's own lol Massive part of my childhood growing up, loved Steps, still do. Excited to see how it develops x

Where and when in London? I wonder who the creative team is.

Opening in Birmingham in November, I’ve heard. I’m thinking maybe Birmingham Rep as they’re getting a lot of new musicals. And the theatre is available from November.

This could be one of the best Jukebox musicals ever or could turn into another Viva Forever. I really hope it’s the former because I’m a huge Steps fan.

This could be the biggest steaming pile of dung and I'll still be there day one. Shameless Steps fan. (Here's hoping it's upbeat and high camp and not some faux-deep autobio jukebox.)

Opening in Birmingham in November, I’ve heard. I’m thinking maybe Birmingham Rep as they’re getting a lot of new musicals. And the theatre is available from November. With this week's announcement of Becoming Nancy in October it maybe unlikely to be the Rep. Also November is usually when they start preparing the Christmas show so it would have to be the first couple of weeks or so. The Alexandra currently has nothing showing in November so makes more sense for it to go there.

I’ve never recovered from the no context Spanish scene in Viva Forever. .
I hope it’s not a bio musical and has somewhat of a plot - If it has a good creative team and keeps its tongue in its cheek, I think this could be huge.

"Speaking in September 2020, Scott-Lee denied rumours that the group was involved in a musical that would use the songs of Steps to tell the story of Princess Diana’s life was in the works, supposedly titled ‘One For Sorrow’.
Now I want to see THAT Steps musical.

Here & Now - opens in Birmingham in November. Tickets on sale February 9th.
It is set in a supermarket called Better Best Bargains. This sounds camp as tits and I’m so ready for it.
