I do think it's slightly ironic that they cancelled it on the basis of safety but under the new seating arrangement for the rescheduled show the audience are actually going to be closer to one another! (1m instead of 2m)

Three interesting numbers in that video. If viable is being used to mean break-even, and I assume it is, then selling 300 seats in a 915 capacity theatre, albeit at quite high prices, brings in sufficient box office income to pay a team of over 60, plus all other ancillary costs.
Refreshing honesty, I thought.

People do appear to be enjoying it’s postponement rather too much on the socials. Bit of a kick in the teeth really when they were just trying to bring a bit of joy to people. They were never going to make their money from the tickets, just the drinks etc. Maybe people will just stop trying.

I've not seen any enjoyment about the postponement but can't deny that I didn't feel comfortable with the way they actively encouraged household mixing. I definitely don't enjoy seeing cast and crew being potentially out of pocket, etc and I do hope that people will keep trying. For the industry as much as for me having some theatre to look forward to to make the winter less bleak.
I didn't book for the original run as there were no single seats but if prices are ok and I don't have anything else on, I will definitely book for the rescheduled date.

Received this. So they say its cancelled and not happening. Then say new dates to follow ! So something seems amiss ! Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic we regret to inform you that SUNSET BOULEVARD at Alexandra Palace Theatre, London on 25/10/2020 is cancelled and will not be rescheduled. A face value refund will be credited to the card used to make the booking or your Paypal account respectively and tickets are not required to be returned. Please allow up to 28 working days for this refund to clear. New dates for 2021 will be announced shortly so please keep an eye on our website for full details. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused and if you have any further query, feel free to contact us at www.seetickets.com/CustomerService (Live chat available)

If the reason for cancellation is they can’t now have bigger bubbles then they have to cancel and I guess the booking system doesn’t give a nicer way to handle that

Presumably that's a typo, and should say "and will now be rescheduled".

Presumably that's a typo, and should say "and will now be rescheduled". The show as sold, with bubbles of up to 6, will not be rescheduled though. If you’ve booked a 6 they cannot just reseat you (would you want 2 3s or 3 2s for example). sometimes with these things the wording is blunt.

Assuming the intention is to reschedule with different seating configuration I think the message sent to ticket holders could have been worded more clearly.
"Our production of Sunset Boulevard on October 25th had been cancelled due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. We plan to schedule new dates for 2021 but the seating arrangements are expected to be different. Therefore a face vale refund ..." perhaps?

I’ve booked. Went for a slips seat as the circle looks a long way back. Especially the ‘cheap’ seats. It seems to automatically block the 2 seats next to you off.

I’ve gone for Row A in the circle, hopefully it won’t be miles away? 😳

I've booked row B in the stalls. Can't wait to hear that score being played by a 30piece orchestra. Found it a bit confusing at first with the added social distanced seats, I think it could've been made clearer what they meant. I wanted to get 2 tickets at the front but they didn't allow for social distancing and you couldn't leave a single seat empty which was rather strange I thought. Anyone else coming to the matinee?

Not rebooking given I seem to be £10 out of pocket for the first one. I assume deducted booking fees that they didn't want to refund, plus I bought ticket insurance just in case. It's sad for the venue, but it's impossible to plan anything at the moment.

I've got a concert staging of Sunset Boulevard booked at the Curve Leicester in December and that only cost £30 per ticket for the front row compared with £83 here.
Fabulous cast but I'm also going to take my chances and wait till nearer the time to book this if at all.

Fabulous cast but I'm also going to take my chances and wait till nearer the time to book this if at all. Also off to Leicester and agree the prices there are incredibly reasonable. That said would love to see Mazz in this too but am working that weekend sadly, so hoping there will be more dates. Am also intrigued to see what the Alexandra Palace theatre is like; such a fascinating place/building (even if from where I live it's a nightmare to get to!)

With all the rave reviews for the stream on Curve website, I was really looking forward to being able to see and hear the material live. I don't suppose anyone wants to take any guesses as to whether or not this could still go ahead? We know January is going to be difficult but early February? Need to start considering buying train tickets as well which is the thing.

So on Magic at the Musicals yesterday they said the dates for this have moved now to October? And tickets go on sale in the next few days? What about current ticket holders AGAIN!
