And Courtney Stapleton….no need to only name the guy! It's significant because it was ST's first performance in the role so will be a chance to see him in action? Like it was Keala Settle's first time as Angelique in & Juliet... I didn’t say it wasn’t significant. Your post implied that it was him alone singing the song, which wasn’t correct. Anyway, there are quite a few clips of them singing on social media and it makes me wish that they did this song at the end of the stage show, they sound great together. First time I’ve heard his voice, stunning.

ticket prices are ridiculous.. hoping they’ll nicely scale up the show considering how cheap I thought it all looked

Top ‘standard price’ felt like a rip off for what you got on tour. They need to do some major tarting up of the set and add another 3 or 4 ensemble to fill out the picture.

Source? Scenic designer posted a few days ago saying that there were ‘big changes’ coming for the palladium…..

Thing about it logically - are they gonna redesign this show for 12 weeks to just go back to the previous version when it goes back on the road?
We might get another cloth fly in if we are lucky but we won't get more than that

We might get another cloth fly in if we are lucky but we won't get more than that I mean maybe? It is a three-month run at the London Palladium, some shows build their entire set just to run for that long, there's no reason they can't add a few extra pieces. If it was a cheap tour going into any other venue it wouldn't. But Disney taking up the Summer spot in such a big, iconic theatre means they might throw some more cash at it.

It also sounds like a great opportunity for them to film it... They're pouring billions into Disney+ content right now

Still waiting on that Aladdin proshot… The Hamilton Pro-Shoot delayed that I imagine, don't want too many pro-shoots appearing at once! That came out like a year and half ago. It’s been plenty of time. My best guess now would be that they release it at the end of this year to tie in with the films 30th anniversary. It’s be great to see them also release one for Beauty and the Beast. Keep this trend going of professionally recorded theatre.

Pre-sale now open.
Pricing similar to Pantoland and last summer's Joseph, ie pretty steep but not exorbitant. Grand Circle £20 -£35.
I've booked two seats at one end of the front row of the stalls. They carry a "potentially restricted view" warning but at £35 compared with £85 for adjacent seats I'll take that. I had to scroll through several performances to find one with those £35 seats still available - there are only 12 in rows A,B and C so likely to go fast.

I'm just glad that this is finally coming into town, so I can catch it in person. The idea of a pro-shoot further down the line is something I'll keep my fingers crossed for!

Does anyone know when the official opening night is? I have googled but cannot find an answer! It's usually the one that's showing as sold out or with very limited availability as most seats off sale invites and press.

The show had to be cancelled Sunday and Tuesday due to covid but it resumed today incredibly with principles covering some ensemble roles!
Emma Caffrey who plays Babette also covered as the Enchantress and Polly Parasol, Jake Bishop is making his debut as Cogsworth, he is second cover and also doing some of his ensemble track in the song ‘Belle’. Other ensemble members are doing split tracks as well as swings.
It’s just great to see a company pull together to get a show on.

GET. MORE. SWINGS.
This is a major production of an A+ property trying to survive in really tricky times. There will come a point where it just doesn’t work and they need to cancel, for the sake of hiring 1 more male and 1 more female swing. Its not as if the ensemble swamp the stage.

They had 6 now have 8. All 4 female swings out with covid.

The Omicron variant is highly contagious and can no doubt spread very quickly through a cast like this. It's easy for a large chunk of your workforce to be taken down by it within a few days no matter how many swings you have.
