I would love to go and see it and be at a theatre again but I feel iffy about travelling a long distance on a train and tube to see something. If it was local I'd be straight there but with this I might have to give it some thought.

Is it worth signing up for Priority Booking for £15?
I still haven't figured out a good solution that allows me to wear a mask and see through my glasses, so it probably isn't worth me worrying about sitting at the front (without glasses, everything is a blur). Plus it's a concert version.
Glad this is going ahead. I didn't take to this quite as much as some people on the thread, but I'm so theatre starved I will see (almost) anything!

This is great news. I might actually risk the train journey down as I absolutely loved this at the Barbican last year and didn't think I'd ever get to see it again

Amazing! I have just purchased priority booking too - it's in walking distance for me, so I might even be able to avoid public transport completely.

Brilliant news!
I'm hoping Priority booking won't be essential, I think a lot of people will still be wary of attending and there are 70 performances so fingers crossed there will be general availability for those who want to go.
Cast-wise I'd love it if they could get Declan Bennett and Tyrone Huntley back, I still regret not seeing them last time!

I assume JCSS was picked because it’s the easiest to do as a concert.

Only Ricardo 'Hot Judas' Alfonso could tempt me back to this. His vocals blew the Barbican away. His rock voice suits it so well.
Also, seeing as he had to withdraw from the original Regents Park production, and replaced by Tyrone Huntley, it would be nice to see him get the chance to finally do it there.

As it's a concert staging is there less likelihood of performances being cancelled because of bad weather? Wouldn't want to risk a special trip to London only for it to be cancelled because of weather (it was touch and go when I saw Evita last year)

Not like we could quickly dash to a different show!

A 90 minute performance with a 7.30pm start time probably gives them about an hour's leeway before a final decision has to be made.

If they get Ricardo Afonso back for this, I'm absolutely going to top my 4 tickets to the Barbican production (and not just because there are no theatre alternatives right now)!

I'd love to see Declan with Ricardo. Although they might have multiple casts and understudies in case anyone gets sick. That's great news either way.

Oh, this does sound tempting. But the travel is off-putting - 90 minutes of public transport each way.
Maybe if I can get a saturday matinee ticket....

Don't suppose anyone has the prices for the comedy nights?

Good on them for doing this, but how on Earth is this worthwhile when they are employing the same number of people but with a massively reduced capacity ?
Have a horrible feeling this will go the way of Six, and be cancelled.
Really hope not though of course, this void of live theatre is really bloody depressing.

Good on them for doing this, but how on Earth is this worthwhile when they are employing the same number of people but with a massively reduced capacity ? It's a concert, so presumably a far smaller cast, sat 2m apart at the front the stage? Could they do it with a cast of six, or would they need a small ensemble (if for no other reason than to provide some cover)? I appreciate there is still an orchestra, but I imagine that will be trimmed and you don't have all the effects etc. Now, there are obviously many other people involved in running a show, front of house, security staff etc. Presumably the numbers will be slightly reduced as there are fewer paying guests. But economically I complete agree that this can't make much money, if anything. But there is a cost to having a theatre empty all summer as well.

Are they employing the same amount of people? It's a concert version, there probably won't be any of the ensemble. Just the main characters. Also they can probably produce it with a much more streamline crew. For the venue, a reduced capacity also means reduced staffing levels.
