The Primetime Emmy Award nominations were published yesterday, and there were quite a few surprises. A full list of nominees can be found here: edition.cnn.com/2020/07/28/entertainment/emmy-nominations-2020/index.html.
Limited series Watchmen seems to have come out on top, with 11 different nominations. In the meantime, Netflix dominated over other media companies, with their shows gaining 160 nominations.
Personally, I thought the biggest shock came with the lack of love for Better Call Saul. Season 5 of BCS has widely been praised as its best year so far, and yet it's been snubbed in almost all of the leading categories. Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks and Rhea Seehorn were all seen as locks for nominations prior to the announcement, but I guess that's just the name of the game. It's a shame, but one can only hope they'll have a little more luck by the time their final season rolls around next year.
