It might be, but then again they reckon 1 in 13 people have COVID at the moment, so it’s totally possible that every other show genuinely has a cast member out with it. It’s totally possible that Taron really got COVID on top of whatever else is going on in his personal life. COVID doesn’t care if you’re already struggling with something. And it’ll get worse before it gets better, because of the transmissibility. One tube ride is enough to catch it. ☹️ You're talking like people still have to self isolate and it is serious to young healthy people. Well the main symptoms for ‘healthy young people’ with omicron are sore throat and blocked nose, fatigue, and feeling achey - which is more than enough to stop an actor being able to perform in a show, particularly a musical. My voice is wrecked today and I’m slumped on the sofa having spent the morning in bed with it.

Broadway's Nick Cordero, a healthy man in his 30's with no preexisting conditions, battled covid in a hospital for over a month. He lost his leg. And then he lost his life. He was a healthy dancer at the top of his game, and a new father. Please stop spreading misinformation about the severity of this virus.

I'm not talking about the original strains. I'm taking about omicron - completely different scenario.

Apologies. Your comment seemed very generalized and I'm so tired of the narrative that "only old and sick people" died in the height of it all. Apologies for reading that into your comment.

I just had it. Like a moderate cold, no problem at all. I followed the new self-isolation guidance. Interestingly I had symptoms for 2 days before the LFD test registered positive. Now I have the additional immunity boost that comes with recovery.

I had covid on my first holiday in 18 months! It was in the U.K., just a week in an apartment by the sea so I was happy to sit in the conservatory and watch the sea and go for walks in the fresh air as it was pretty quiet there! Just gutted couldn’t go shopping or out for meals but it was nice to relax. I had a cold but tested negative and the first day there my dad started coughing so we all tested and all positive! Been negative for over a week now but still a bit bunged up and coughing. I’m lucky that it was like a cold, and my parents have been fine too, just cold symptoms. This new variant on the whole is quite mild for most, which is how viruses evolve. It’s crazy how much covid is around at the moment, it’s literally everywhere. Stay safe and be well everyone.

Get plenty of rest if you do get it - my experience of COVID & jetlag this week is that it mixes particularly badly with lost sleep.

I honestly, genuinely despair. I hate him. I loathe him with every single fibre of my being and I don't know how much worse he has to be for him to go. Heck, we Americans couldn't get rid of Trump even after bringing him up on charges... twice! And he's STILL stunningly popular.

Also, fining a billionaire is frankly insulting. If the only penalty for lawbreaking is a fine, then law is optional for the rich.

Like everyone on here, I hope that Covid (god I didn’t want to use that word again) is in the rear view mirror and we can move on with our lives.
However if a new deadly variant of Covid mutated and Boris tells the country we must go into another lockdown, how is anyone going to take him seriously?

It says an awful lot about what sort of person he is that it takes police action to get an apology out of him, although I'm not sure it really qualifies as an apology if it isn't offered unprompted. If you have to be forced into an apology you don't regret what you did. You regret that you didn't get away with it.

God I loathe him; but I loathed him already. This only makes a difference if it moves the needle amongst Tory voters.

His excuse that it didn't occur to him that he broke the rules is so absurd. If that's the case then he is in no fit state to be in charge of anything if his grasp of things is so limited.
When are we taking to the streets then?

We take to the streets on May 5th, then vote for councillors other than Tories.

Like Mark Thomas' elderly crusty rambler, I've been to the cupboard to make sure my protest boots are still there. 'Never thought I would have to wear you in anger again'. Feels like Grosvenor Square again. Inner city riots of the 1980's. Feels like the miners strike and Wapping all over. Poll tax demonstrations and Blairs anti-war demonstrations.

A lot depends on the quality of the opposition leader as the Tories still retained power in 1992 election.

Gassy, wet, expensive, upper class and pointless. Sounds about right.

Still a lot to play out over Partygate and Currygate but with the economic problems, Ukraine, the Northern Ireland issue then the potential of both leaders going would just cause more issues.
