Concerning report about Cinema's in the USA reported by the New York Times. The cinemas are closed as no films are being released as the cinemas are closed as no films are being released ... .... ... And much as I like the new model of streaming the latest blockbusters to your TV, expecting anyone to pay £15.99 to rent the new Scooby Doo film Scoob for two days is extortion. The only film I might even consider paying that for is the new Bond.

Since the lockdown began I've rented/purchased a few films via streaming services, but I haven't paid anything close to that for any of them. There's a limit to what I'm prepared to pay in order to watch a film on my own (low-end) television, and that's way above it.

Whereas tomorrow I’m paying to see a film I already own in the cinema for the big screen big sound experience.

BA think it might not be till 2024 that passenger numbers recover.

The 747 is a fantastic aircraft. Nothing like the roar it makes as it takes off. I last operated on the Jumbo back in March 2015, (before I was moved onto the A380) - On it I did trips to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Kuwait, Cape Town, Miami, Nairobi, Toronto, Lagos, Chicago and Moscow. Glad to have a little part in that bit of what will now be aviation history. My last flight on it as a passenger was back from New York in March, after the theatre closures happened. A fitting farewell.
Leisure traffic to Europe is certainly picking up, but the money comes from longhaul and especially business travel (and of course, the USA is a major factor in that). Presumably, 2024 is based on the virus being under control by then.

Probably based on both virus being under control and then a period of economic recovery to put some cash back in the budgets for business travel. Lunchtime announcement today by Boris. Do we think there might be any news on those 'imminent' dates for Stage 4 and 5?

Through the issue for theatre is not just having audiences but having a profitable audience and getting the insurance to deal with local lockdowns

Theatres open again from 1 August with COVID measures? So that's the Stage 4 date finally. Really glad to see this - plenty of challenges ahead but it's a positive step.

Assuming people feel confident enough. There's a difference between "no longer prohibited" and "actually going to happen".

I'm just interested where all this sudden certainty has come from. A few weeks ago Leicester was put back in lockdown. It can't possibly be that Johnson wants to stay popular by saying whatever will make people happy regardless of the potentially dire consequences could it?...

Shifting responsibility to the theatre: if they go bankrupt, not the govt fault!

Maybe all should have to wear them if you go out NO exceptions unless you are hooked up to an oxegon tank etc and then you'd likely be high risk.
So would we wear them to go into a pub/restruarant and only remove them when we eat or drink and put them back on inbetween and the same in fast food outlets. You are buying there like in a shop.
Teachers in a classroom should they now wear them or pupils over a certain age.

This is good news, I wonder which West end shows will actually open in the next couple of months though?

I am taking a break from this forum and might not return. Have you thought about the ignore function? I have done it today. A fellow member and I chatted a bit. A month ago he said I had nice face and this week he told me about a porn site and a fetish he has. I wasn't really sure what to do so I blocked and I guess now I've reported it in a passive way!
